Hi, I was diagnosed with in 2006 with type I, but I am wondering about sacral dimples and tethered cord. I was born with a sacral dimple; at 44 still quite noticeable actually. I'm wondering what connection there is??? Does anyone have any good info on sacral dimples and tethered cord?
as you proberly know sacral dimple is related to spina bifida, the same is said with chiari malformation, are you sure you dont have type 2 chiari?

No surgery...I lost my job and insurance shortly after diagnosis in Feb 2007. The neurologist made me feel symptoms were not important since I had been dealing with these issues since I was 8 - I was told to loose weight and come back I did not go any further. My symptoms are Overweight/hypothyroidism/Sleep Apnea/weakness in arms, hands, fingers/ aching joints/sciatic pain both left and right/neck and shoulder pain/bruise easily/tingle feet/numb toes/migraines/vision issues/vertigo/anxiety/depression. 2007 I weighed 298 and lost 50lbs and put back 20 over the next 3 years...Dieting again lost 35lbs since Jan ---down to 230 now. I am also doing aqua
zumba 2-3 times a week and managing pain with naproxen...

losing weight is the hardest thing to do, most of the time its a struggle to some basic walking,
you must be proud of your self, you are being active, it has so many benefits, good for you.
maybe its time for another MRI, and to talk to another specialist, you shouldnt need to put up with talk like that from a specialist, thats disgusting, your weight shouldnt be a factor, your weight didnt cause any of those issues,
