So I have been released from my neurosurgeon at 7 months post-op,which is great!! No more driving 2hrs one way!!! But he has informed me that there’s NOTHING I shouldn’t be doing… I asked an roller coasters and he says its fine but may get a little more dizzy n sick than others. This doesn’t sound right to me… Anyone been told after surgery what ya can’t do?
Hello Andrea
Good news about no more neurosurgeon appointments. I am sure that you won't miss the drive. I did not have any restrictions either. I did find that I self-monitored which I am sure that you will do as well as you adjust post-surgery. I am always adding new things to what I am able to do - everyone has their own pace. Good luck in your continued recovery
Hello Andrea, congratulations on being released from your neurosurgeon that is great news! I was given restrictions after surgery with roller coasters. I was told the gravity pulling wouldn’t be good and could cause problems. All Drs are different but I’m not sure if the intense pulling of gravity could move our brain back down towards the spinal cord and start up symptoms. I personally wouldn’t its a big risk and we’ve been through so much already. Best wishes take care!
