Has anyone else had there symptoms come back years after decompression? I went almost 9 years without any major problems but the last 6 months or so symptoms have been progressively coming back. Headaches slurred speech, memory problems, balance, etc. I have an appt with ns on July 15 hopefully I get some answers just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

I am almost 8 years post op and my post decompression symptoms are much worse than my pre surgical symptoms. There is research that says after decompression surgery within 2 years symptoms will start returning. I am seeing my NS in Pittsburgh the end of this week or the beginning of next week where I have been sick and hospitalized several times since December. Things have gotten very serious since the beginning of May. Please let us know what your NS says on July 15th. I will let you know what my NS says also about post op Chiari symptoms.
Tracyz, where is your ns at in Pittsburgh? I had one at children’s but he is no longer there and have been looking for a new one to go too that actually understands chiari.
Nicole, i saw your post and am interested to hear what your doctor ended up saying at your appointment. I had surgery 13 years ago and my symptoms have just started coming back the past few months.
