Radionuclide cisternogram

Hi all did anybody ever had one of these done. For some reason I gave my PCP information on how to order the CINE MRI and this is what he came up with ordering instead.

I am just beginning to research it. so far all I have read was the wiki page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radionuclide_cisternogram

Any info would be grea. thanks in advance

Mike, this isn’t right… it’s not even close to a cine MRI. I would call the office. The cisterogram isn’t ordered to show the flow if CSF- its to show radionuclide uptake in diseased areas of the head.

Jen,

I know but I finally got to the point of getting the doctor just to order any test for csf flow. Maybe on of the knuckleheads who reads the results might be able to order the cine or tell his office to order the cine.

Mike can you call the facility where the study waited red to and ask them to call the doc office and help them pick the right study.

This is definitely not a CINE MRI but I do wonder if your doctor ordered it on purpose instead of by mistake to see if a CSF leak is causing your post-op issues? I'd call the doctor and verify that he did indeed mean to order this an not a CINE MRI.

called doc and he said that was the test he wanted and the hospital does not do CINE. the hospital also told me that they do not know where that test is performed.

I talked to some other patients of his and they say his theory is keep it local and pittsburgh which have more advanced hospital (trauma and stuff) is not local for him. we could be in Pittsburgh in 1/2 hour. I am thinking of getting a new PCP but I really do not feel like breaking a new one in.
