Pre-op done!

Hello everyone, my husband and I spent the day in NY, for the Pre-op, it has been a long Day…2 hrs to get there NOT BAD rite?? We spent almost 20 mins trying to find a spot in the parking garage,it is snowing long walk for me from the garbage to hospital,I get there and they tell us we are in the wrong place!!! We needed to go to another building,OMG NOT GOOD!! We go to the other building( we needed to drive there) finally we are at the rite place, But it took them 1 1/2 before they took me in…the day is getting long…then the RN asked a bunch of questions, she gets done the APRN comes in and asked the same questions over again!!!then she asked me if I have anxiety!!! At that point I felt like saying…Hello I am having my head split open AGAIN and my neck fuised to my scull would’nt you be??? But I was nice and just answered “yes becaused of the surgery”!!! Then the ride home was almost 4hrs because of traffic…LONG LONG DAY

Sorry needed to vent …sugery is next wendseday and I am getting very nervous, it was easier the FIRST time…didn’t know what to expect, sometimes the unknown is better!!!

Nella, understandable anxiety. Two days before the consult with my surgeon I couldn’t eat and when I arrived I was about to come out of my skin. Waiting and repetition make this worse- but honestly there is a comfort in knowing the office is busy and backed up- people are trying to get in there! The repetition is supposed weed out mistakes and plan for care- more sets of eyes means more thourough, to me. Know there are many who have gone before you. Plan for lots of sleep in the hospital and going with the flow. We will be with you in spirit and we are so attuned to what our buddy is going through. I have nothing but positive thoughts for you for surgery and outcome. And a little positive note…, there is no sleep like anesthesia sleep- glorious. Jenn

How did surgery go? I had decompression surgery on the 17th and was discharged this past Sunday the 21st. God bless you and hope you are doing well.
