Post Surgery

Have anyone else had decompression surgery and experienced what felt like electric shocks in their head? I had surgery three months ago and I still have what feels like jumper cables touching each other and sparking in my head. I talked to my surgeon about it and he said that it is simply my nerves reconnecting. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this. How long should this go on? I could totally live without this. It is extremely uncomfortable.

Blackkpanther, I can recall others here mentioning this kind of nerve pain symptom as it relates to surgical post-op. Hopefully, they will share experiences as well. It takes times to heal from the surgery, but I can’t really give you a fixed timeframe as it is highly individual. As it is really uncomfortable for you perhaps you can consider asking your neurosurgeon to suggest something that helps with nerve pain. I practice mindfulness and visualization techniques for managing my breakthrough pain. This is also something you may want to explore. I hope you find relief soon.

Hugs.

I'M ALMOST 4 WEEKS POST OPT, STARED GETTING THEM LAST WEEK. TOLD THE SAME THING.WISH YOU LUCK

My son is still having headaches and weird pains in his head post surgery. He is 14. I am sorry you are going through this but it is nice to know he is not alone in his struggle. He too is trying mindfulness and visualization techniques to help with his breakthrough pain. It works a little he is still working on mastering those techniques.
