my daughter had decompression surgery 5 years ago at 25 yoa. now returning severe headaches, dizziness, fatigue. MRI said to be ok except for new problem with scoliosis. pain has been severe. what can we do? i will not watch her suffer like we did prior to her diagnosis. last night was a bad night.
Anita,
You should ask for a Cine MRI and a full spine MRI and if you haven't I would look at her MRI films. I was told for years after my decompression that my MRI's "looked fine" but I never saw them. I went to new NS and she ordered new ones and walked me through them. As soon as I saw it I gasp. I could see a pretty large pocket of fluid at base of skull and it was swollen. What I found out was that my patch was loose and it was holding fluid like a cink and my CSF was blocked at C2 because of scar tissue. I'm not saying this is what's happening with your daughter but you need to find out full picture to rule stuff out. I hope she feels better today. We are all here for you and your daughter.

we knew sshe had scoliosis sine grade school, just has not been a problem before. i wanted a cine MRI, heck, i waanted a contrast MRI. her fiance is a neuroscience researcher and has read her MRI, just not detailed enough. would the sensation of her scalp crawling be a sign of a leak? last night she bent over to get something out of the dryer, felt her scalp crawl the severe ppain hit.she has moved away from her surgeon, Dr. Terry Ryan in Columbia, mo. she is now in st. louis. I want her to go to a specialist in Washington University. today she rates the pain as a step above bearable. at what poitddo i ask her to go to an ER? have not had much luck with them in the past.
