I am three weeks into recovery but I am feeling worse now then I did last week. i am having increased swelling on my left side of head and neck and I am having all sorts of pain like burning, stabbing, throbbing. I go tomorrow to have my stitches taken out and hope to find out what is going on cause I'm beginning to get a little scared, but I wanted to ask if anyone else has gone through this? Also I am sooo exhausted compared to how I was even right after I came home from the hospital.
Hope you get an answer tomorrow and feel better.

I was, and still am exhausted. For about 3 months after surgery I couldn’t stay awake for more than 3 hours at a time, and would literally fall asleep in the middle of doing things. I am now 9 months post op and I take a nap most days. I do feel better than I did, but be patient…it’s a long road.
I can't speak from experience....but .... When you have surgery in & around your brain. There's NO WAY IN HELL (pardon) you can be close to fully recovered in only 3 weeks.
I've had two significant surgeries on my head (skull fracture & ear surgery) and both situations I was out of work for 6 months.
Talk to your doctor.....It's not something to mess around with and takes time..........
thanks everyone..I did see the doctor and he said it all was completely normal but it should only get worse a little then things will begin to get better. I'm trying not to be paranoid but I have never experienced anything like this before. The new thing that is going on is this popping sound in my neck. The surgeon told me what things to watch for so I'm not too worry but its such a strange sensation.
I am seven weeks post op and also am getting the popping sounds/ feelings. I hope this is just normal recovery and not something to be worried about!
Oh Great! I got popping oing off at the base of my scull and neak. BIG POPS! and a gushy ball that has almost went down. If I get a massive headache Ill know I have a leak. It is scarry. Especially after the fact. What do you do. Well Im learning to keep close contact with my Surgen. Or her PA I dont care as long as they answer. They have been good about that. Good luck in you journey. And God Bless.
Omgoodness people, its only been about 2 months and I just figured out that I had all these replies..lol..guess i am still getting used to this site...anyway i am still having a lot of neck pain both my muscles and in the bones..im feeling so frustrated that this pain is not going to go away..also it seems like my fibromyalgia hasn't gotten worse. i don't regret having the surgery cause the pressure headaches have gone away but i feel like i just traded symptoms. also now the neuro doc thinks i have trigmenial neuralgia...when did everyone elses pain ease or didnt it?
