Our funnies

So I figued we should have a thread to laugh at ourselves. Or at least one to laugh at me. lol

The other day I had an awesome Chairi moment.

I was changing out of my pj pants...I was taking one leg out of the pants...as my other leg decided completely on its own that it was going to make an attempt to come out too. I was standing. So this is not possible. lol I literally fell out of my pants. It looked like a cartoon. I mean there should have been a sound effect that went like "Whoooooop" followed by a laugh track.

Its so hard to describe what happened. I mean you know when people say to rub your belly and pat your head? And most people can't do both at the same time because your brain can't do both...yeah it was kinda like my brain was focused completely on the one leg that I was concentrating on...and the other leg completely had a mind of its own.

HYSTERICAL.

I had to share it with everyone:)

Last week I had such fog brain from all my meds. I went to throw the trash out at 10pm in my front yard I then walked out of my gate and half way across the street before I realized I had no place to go. I laughed so hard at myself. When I looked down I was wearing my PJ’s and no jacket. I still have no idea where I thought I had to go that night.

Oh The meat story is great! So funny.

the meds stories I have…one night after taking my go to sleep pills, I noticed some bills and decided I would open them. Then I got to a card envelope and my alter ego, Alice in Wonderland, took over my brain. I say there so perplexed as to how the envelopes suddenly grew so large.I was convinced my kids were playing a prank on me. The next morning my oldest daughter asked me what was up with my facebook status. I quickly got on to my profile to see that my post read: hey, whose the joker, and how did this envelope get so big.

I have a lot of witty friends and not one of them commented…until I admitted that I was pretty much high butt didn’t know it. No one was afraid to comment after that. And they were looking forward to my posts while I was in recovery for surgery…dear Alice didn’t feel like posting, she was photophobic and too sore.

Lol Abby… Joe calls me pants. And every name with pants. Like the pants of many hats because I always try on funny hats to be goofy. Lol that one also works because I do a lot of stuff so anytime sometime comes up he adds it to pants. So it’s even funnier that you said that.
Alice is perfect lol we are all full of nonsense! Haha

Debra, that one is pretty funny, girl. I am glad you got those witty friends, they keep us in line don’t they?

Please keep us informed, and remind us again, cause, we are in Alice in Wonderland with you.

Dear Alice, know we love you and are thinking of you. Need anything? We are here for you. Some really good tips on stuff are posted here and on the resource section. We have Julie who just had surgery on here, and will be happy to give you some really good advice, she is also a nurse.

Thanks for your sweet post,

Love, Prayers, & hugs,

Abby

Alicia,

That was funny. I hope you didn't get hurt though.

I have a low spine problem so, every time I fall on my butt, I wet my pants, even a jarring like almost missing a step can sometimes result in the same thing. Depending one where I am, it's not ALWAYS funny. But thinking about it today, it was. LOL!!

Carolyn :-)

LOL!! That was kinda cute. It's good the butcher was nice enough not to say anything rude.

Too funny Alicia!!

I sometimes have "word finding" issues. A few weeks ago when I first started driving after the surgery, I decided I wanted to try to do something nice for my husband and buy him some good filet mignons and make a nice dinner. He's been great through all this.

I went into our nice butcher shop/market and the "prime cuts of meat" counter. I asked the guy how to cook it, and he said "well what do you want to do?"

I said "I dunno...I just wanna bring my husband home a good piece of meat"

He just looked at me..and as soon as I said it I realized that's probably not the way I would have ordinarily phrased it..LOL

Julie

Hi Frances,

I'm new on this site.

That was a good one. Sometimes I wonder where my brain was when I do stuff that is completely out of character. (and I'm not old yet, so it's not that, yet) Like the time I must have brushed my partial before bed, and then couldn't find it to put it in it's container. My husband found it the next morning, IN THE REFRIGERATOR!!

Hey Carolyn,

Nope luckily I did not get hurt:)

I can understand how that happens. At least you can laugh at yourself. Maybe not when it happens, but after the fact.

I know I've done that quite a few times just from laughing too hard.

Hahah Lori …maybe I shouuld sit down when I change my pants…then I won’t be falling out of them! Sometimes I wish I had a camera set up in my room or following me to catch my funny moments that happen when noone is around. I mean I couldn’t reenact this pants thing if I tried. If I did try…I’d probably hurt myself! lol

My husband thinks I am silly, I just don't have the attention span for things, it's sometimes funny, sometimes not and I wonder what's wrong with me...but I already know, lol.

One Saturday I decided to make dinner, so I took some meat out to thaw it. 30 minutes later I went in the kitchen to look for something to make for dinner (I didn't remember at all I had already been in the kitchen), I started to take things out. Then i saw the meat I already took out and had that "duh" moment. Then a couple hours later I remember we had plans for dinner with some friends...how could I forget so much.

Two weeks ago my husband was talking to me about his work picnic and that it would be in the same location as a previous year...I told him I never went to one of his work picnics, he said I did. He was telling me my dad was there, we played horseshoes, we went down an inflatable slide, he even said a co-worker took a picture of us ont he slide...I have no recollection of this day, none. I don't remember any of it! Kind of scary.

Haha awww well the good thing is...you know you would not have went hungry at all that night!!

I hate those moments when you can't remember a single thing like that. Like the memory just isn't there or never formed. Maybe if you see the picture it'll jog the memory?

So today...I was leaving for work...I walked out the front door and right into the pillar/post thing on the porch. Mom and Joe were walking out with me. Again...my perception I believe. I'm pretty sure I saw myself walking next to it...but nope. I walked right into it. lol

Abby where is my helmet/body armor? :p

Hi Kimberly,

I've had times like that where my husband is telling someone about a vacation we went on and what we did. Most of the times I remember going wherever it was, but very little detail about what we did. I'll just sit there and agree with him, ya, we had a great time, or that was funny etc. But thinking to myself, "why don't I remember that at all"? It IS scary, it makes me feel old. (but that's short term memory loss, isn't it?) I figured out I don't remember those vacations because I never get to chose whether that's where I wanted to go. My husband is VERY opinionated, and it's his way or no way.

I probably dismissed those vacations because I really didn't have fun.

Oh well, too late now... :-)

I just realized this was supposed to be a "funnies' discussion. That wasn't at all funny....perception isn't all it's cracked up to be...

Alicia,

That's a good one.... lol!! Sometimes I'll be standing beside the door jam turn around to walk into the next room, and walk into the door, duh!!!

Today I had some word funnies. I couldn't spit out the sentance "If we have a fridge available I'll send it to your room"

luckily it was a frequent guest. lol all I could say was something like "wefrid" and I just kept repeating it before I could finally stop myself from saying it. He started laughing and said what I was trying to say. I said ot him "Glad you understood that!"

Grr sometimes thats really annoying. Other times its funny. I keep tripping over my words today. I don't know if its my brain working faster than my mouth or what.

I'm going to "bump" this with a new funny.

Last weekend 2 of my sisters, Joe and I were on our way to Fell's Point in MD for my older sister's Divorce party. lol

(thats not the funny part.)

So I had to get gas in my car. Did that. I went to pull away and I stuck my hand through the steering wheel to reset the trip counter...the other hand was turning the wheel. UM I got the one arm stuck in the wheel and had to stop in the middle of Rutter's parking lot. I'm screaming "I'M STUCK I'M STUCK!!" Haha um...apparently one side didn't tell the other side what it was doing. Otherwise I wouldn't have turned the wheel while the other was still there...OR I would have put my arm over the wheel instead of inside it.

Haha oh my.

I have a funny to add, too. Yesterday, I was going out to run some errands. I grabbed my car keys and left. When I got home I was locked out! I didn't have my cell phone because it was in the house charging! I had to go to my husband's office to get a house key. My husband had just left to go to lunch with someone so his secretary told me that she thought she had a spare key to our house. She looked and looked for awhile and then we realized that even if we found one, it was outdated because we had the locks changed. I called my husband's cell phone and told him that I was locked out of the house. When he got back from lunch, he took me back to the house to unlock it and then I took him back to his office. When I got back to his office with him, I realized that I left my car keys at the house so I couldn't drive my car home from his office! He had to bring me home once again to get my car keys! Finally, I got to my car and drove home! Oh my gosh! I was so frustrated by this point. Darn Chiari brain:(

Carla

haha oh Carla! Thats great! What a day you had!!

I have a funny to add. A couple of weeks ago my mom and I were leaving the house to run some errands. I didn't realize until I was in the car that I had brought the remote controller for the t.v. with me to the car! lol Me and my mom laughed until we had tears in our eyes.

Many times I will go into another room and forget what I was going to get or do in that room. I just have to laugh it off. My boys laugh with me too. I tell them I am having brain "farts". lol

Hahaha this is unchiari related...but one time my grandmother and all of us were sitting around the dining room table at her house. The phone rang and she picked up the remote and kept saying "Hello?" "Hello?? HELLO!!!?" haha we were laughing so hard we couldn't even get the real phone. Here the phone was still ringing and she was answering the remote!

I do that where I walk into a room to do something and go completely blank and have no idea what I went in for.
