Occipital neuralgia

I was just diagnosed with occipital neuralgia by a pain management specialist. I am going to get injections in a few weeks to help with the headaches and he increased my neurontin to help with the nerve pain. I am really hoping it helps my headaches. My neurologist had been giving me medication for migraines and they weren’t doing a thing.

Has anyone else been diagnosed with occipital neuralgia? If so what was your experience?
