No energy

I always feel like I have no energy. Even if I have had a good nites sleep. I would still feel like I haven’t slept. I can get up in the mornings and be up for an hour r two and then I feel drained. Would a hone else feel like that

What your feeling is not abnormal. I feel like that everyday. No matter how many hours I sleep, I feel pretty exhausted throughout the day. Fatigue and insomnia are very common symptoms in Chiarians. Try to stay positive, it does seem to help(:

Hugs,

Macie.

Thanks Macie I could sleep all nite and get up and not do much at all and feel like I’ve done a workout. I have three children and so unfair cause I can’t do many things with them at all :frowning: xx

You have described me as well! I could sleep all night long, as a matter of fact, I have slept for 10 hours straight one time and woke feeling like I never went to sleep. Many people with Chiari say that fatigue isn’t a symptom, but I have found just as many of us who do have this symptom. On my good days, where I don’t hurt as bad and I’m not dead tired, I try to get as much done around the house as possible…because I never know when I’m going to have to just lie in bed or sleep in the recliner because I’m so tired I can’t function! You’re not alone in this. I too have 3 children, mine are all boys, and thankfully are old enough to understand that I need frequent breaks and sometimes just have to skip their activity all together. They don’t like it, but they are very understanding and help me immensely!
I go for my first NS visit next Wed, so we’ll see what he suggests as a course of action!

I am waiting for another appointment and going to ask about the decompression operation . I pay a health insurance and I was thinking of trying to claim throught that to pay for the operation xx

Make sure you see a Chiari Specialist before you decide on surgery! That is the most important thing! Also, make sure you ask your Doctor about your Odontoid bone, if it's straight or retro-flexed. It is crucial when making decisions for decompression surgery. The Odontoid bone(Retro-flexed) was the reason for my second surgery. Try keeping a daily journal on your symptoms. No matter how off the wall they may seem, just write down the date, time, and symptom. Considering you have bad fatigue, also jot down when you wake up and fall asleep. Take note on when your symptoms get worse. Mine tend to get worse right before my menstrual cycle and right before a big storm, those are when I get really sick.! Stay positive and embrace the good days!

I can be bad round that time of the month to xx

I have the same exact issue. When my headaches are active I have no energy what so ever and on the rare days that I do not have a headache I have energy.

I have the same issues. I take Viiamins and they help with some of the fatigue. You might wnat to ask to get your iron level checked next time you do to your doctor. It's a simple blood test and can often be low with women during their menstruating years. I find that taking a multi vitamin, vitamin B12 B6 along with a mixed B suppliment and evening primrose oil helps. I also take spirulina that helps with energy and an occasional iron suppliment.

The vitamins don't take the exhaustion issues away they just help me feel a little better.

Thanks Wendy xx
