New and confused

My mri says low lying tonsils but doesn’t have a measurement. I have most all symptoms of chiari (dizzy, balance, fine motor prob, pressure head and neck, dry eyes, irreg period, and have had occasional days where walking normal is a challenge). Is low lying tonsils chiari or not? I do not have worse head neck pressure with cough, etc. can It still be chiari? This mri is from 2 years ago. I’m trying to see a knowledgeable dr as my symptoms have since progressed and I know I need another mri. I had a neuro tell me that my mri can’t change. I’m beyond frustrated.

Unfortunately, I have to agree that most neurologists do not understand Chiari. You must find a neurosurgeon that does. And, in fact MRIs can change over time. Mine has and my neurosurgeon is careful to rescan it to check for changes as my symptoms have progressed and before surgery. You may also want to have your thyroid checked. It seems like thyroid problems, such as Hashimoto's, are common especially since you are experiencing irreg. periods. The best advice I can give you is to trust yourself.
