Need advise

My 7 year old has chiari just diagnosed although I have been searching for answers since she was almost 3. Anyway what is everyones opinion on severe mood swings. I feel like I live with jekell and hyde and it is so frustrating nothing I do helps. Its taking a major toll on my other kids as well. Opinions would be helpful.

Thanks rmcchiari

I have had the same results as Mandy described about eating gluten free (I have had three decompression in the last 20 months). Even now, I can the difference when I eat gluten, sweets, and caffeine. Changing my diet to fruits, veggies, meat, and nuts - occasionally, I eat gluten free pasta, I try to stay away from dairy but I do love cheese. Exercise (which for me only means walking) is also very important. How does she sleep? I would recommend checking for sleep apnea too.

My heart is with you.

Jeff

I have a 16 year old with chiari that is very moody not sure if its the age ( could very well be) or related to her chiari but I do notice it tends to get worse when her symptoms act up

I also have a question, how normal or abnormal is it that the muscel and nerves on both sides of the skull that was suppose to attach after surgery don't attach. My thinking is the lack of attachment in my personal case could have been due to being asulted while in I.C.U at the hospital . I was told I would right after surgery remain upright position , but one of the attending nurses thought I was still under heavey enough to abuse me and lowered the bed rapidly, and grabbed my wrist and held it until the blood started coming out of the instrument that was in my vein. My mom handed me my phone right after surgery and I took pictures and complained and showed the photos to the patient adv. who did nothing and when pressure was applied for action to be taken he took an early retirement???????? So what would you guys suggest I do, whats my next move. My phone with the photos was stolen, but I did show the dated photos to another patient adv. who confirmed seeing them. HELP ME PLEASE?,
