AGE: I’m 32
DOB AND SIGN: June 21st (1st day of Summer, but it almost always rains…lol) and I’m on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer
WHERE YOU LIVE: I grew up in Port Angeles, WA (near Forks, where the Twilight books/movies are set), but I’ve lived in Vancouver, WA for the last 14 years.
FAMILY: My family mostly consists of my mom, sister, her husband, and their kids. My niece Bella will be 2 next month. She has been a huge part of my life:) My sister jokes that I’m more than an aunt to her…I’m her auntie-mama…lol:) My other niece Kayla, who just turned 8, became part of our family when her dad married my sister this last year. She is a handful, but she’s a sweetheart. My sister is also 8 months pregnant with my first nephew.
PETS: No pets right now, but I’m hoping to get a Yorkie puppy soon.
CAREER: I worked in Banking as an Operations Supervisor for many years. I left to be the Office Manager for a pediatric dental office in 2006. I still work there today, but I had to step down as Office Manager when my health became an issue. I can’t handle the stress and long hours right now. I’m lucky to work for an employer that actually cares about me…if not, I probably wouldn’t have a job right now.
HOBBIES & INTERESTS: This is a tricky one…Prior to my car accident and Chiari, I LOVED rollercoasters, skydiving, hiking, and anything adventurous. I can’t do those things anymore:( So, now I enjoy reading (when my head doesn’t hurt too bad) and traveling when I feel up to it. I also enjoy coloring with my Nieces.
TALENTS: I’m a people person:) I can diffuse almost any bad situation. When I was in Banking, several years ago, my bosses always had me talk to upset customers even though that was their job. By the time they left, I was usually able to put a smile on their face:)
YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE CHORES: I use to LOVE cleaning of any kind. I was a little OCD about it. Now, I’m not able to do much…so, my favorite chore is whatever I’m able to do that day.
SOMETHING UNKNOWN ABOUT YOU: Hmmm…My Mom went on a blind date with Ted Bundy (you know…the serial killer) back in the 70’s. She declined his offer for a ride home, which is probably the only reason she’s still alive and I’m here today. This has taught me to trust my instincts and to appreciate every day, even with the pain. Another interesting fact…My Grandpa invented the Ziplock seal. His partner, who had temporary POA while he was in the hospital, sold it out from underneath him. I could have been Heiress to the Ziplock fortune!
