Just thought we could all use a moment to think about what is unique,strange or funny about ourselves - no chiari stuff - that is #26 for all of us. I am stealing this from Facebook - but still an oldie but a goodie. I will start

  1. When eating pretzels I bight them length wise.
  2. When folding laundry I have to pat whatever I fold. When I try not to pat it is an effort. So fold,put in pile then pat,pat
  3. I think there is a solution to every problem
  4. I am pretty small but I have a voice that sounds like I gargle with rocks. I would love blame you know what but it has always been really deep and I scream!!
  5. I have a bump on either side of my mouth on the inside -if you don’t have it you won’t understand if you do have then you will be surprised that others don’t.
  6. When eating carrots (canned wheels) I pop out the center when eating them

  23. I can’t understand anyone with an accent. Even if they moved here at two I just can’t understand what they are saying. I then look at my husband to translate the English to English language barrier

1. Strange but true – I love to rub my stomach in a clockwise motion after eating a good meal.
2. I love to play computer games
3. Believe it or not my ideal place is alone and in the wilderness. I have seen some beautiful things.
4. In high school (when I first moved to Florida) I bleached my hair blonde and tried to learn to surf.

6. When I am stresses, I love to cook, but I do not do desserts.

12. One of my greatest birthdays was when my mother got lost going to Sea World. We did many other fun things instead.
13. I am afraid of snakes, just like Indiana Jones
14. I am a closet Trekkie(classic not any others)
15. I cried when Spock died in Wrath of Khan
16. If it is something that I am really into (think Lord of the Rings) I will read the books first before watching the movie and mentally compare
17. Steven King’s writings still scare me, especially after reading IT
18. I miss rotary phones, reminds me of simpler times
19. I am thinking of writing a book poetry and musings
20. I still like reading Dr. Suess and not because I have kids, he is a really cool author
21. If I never ate it, do not tell me what it is cause I will like it. After you tell me, I will not like or eat it again
22. I want o learn how to build a robot
23. I would love to travel the world and see the off the beaten path things. Can’t stand the tourist crowd and I believe you learn more about the history and culture that way
24. I once taught a young man (17 YO) who was going to spend the rest of his life in jail and miss the precious moments of his child being born. Sad, I know.
25. This was the hardest thing I had to do in quite a while.

This is fun! Jealous of you tall people...

1. I'm 4'11. All my pants are frayed because even the short sizes end up getting walked on a bit.

2. My husband is 6'5. We get funny looks sometimes.

3. I have a fat cat named Buttercup who sometimes sounds like she can talk. She says mom and no. lol

4. My favorite places are Savannah and New Orleans. I love feeling like I've stepped back in time!

5. I have 12 tattoos and I want 3 more.

6. I love to read. I will read 3 or 4 books at a time, moving from one to the other depending on my mood.

7. I love going to concerts. Especially metal concerts.

8. Like Becki I was a teen mom.

9. I'm an accountant. While working full time is exhausting I do like the job.

10. The worst experience of my life was having my tonsils removed at age 29. The pain was agonizing and lasted over 2 weeks. It made labor seem like a day at the beach.

11. I love watching British TV shows on Netflix. IT Crowd, Coupling, and the Inbetweeners are my favs.

12. I've been on a gluten free diet for two years.

13. I've read every Agatha Christie book I've been able to find.

14. I watch way too much TV. I'm an HBO and AMC series junkie.

15. I love to make (and eat) desserts.

16. I love to hiking at state parks when I have the energy.

17. Even after living in the south for 22 years I still get laughed at for my northern accent sometimes.

18. I used to be a reservation agent for Hooters Airlines.

19. I hate to clean house. I do what has to be done cleaning wise but can ignore clutter.

20. I love watching comedies. Real life is too serious so when I go to the movies I just want ridiculous funniness.

21. I'm an only child.

22. I have grey eyes and I'm always trying to wear eyeshadow to make them more blue or more green. lol

23. My pupils are always dialated. I got lots of drug talks in school which frustrated me to no end. I'm not on drugs! lol

24. I love french fries. I would eat them around the clock if I could.

25. I'm really a pretty boring person! lol

my mum is the short one at 5'4".. all her brothers and parents are much taller.. including myself. im 5'10" and tower over her.. i call her my little mummy haha
here's my 25:

1) i still suck my thumb at the age of 24 *meep*
2) i have one tattoo that i got when i was 17 - this got ruined during pregnancy lol
3) im a mother of one very cheeky little girl
4) i have to check my shoes for spiders before i wear them
5) i have to check my towels for spiders when i get out the shower
6) when i do find a spider, i trap it under a glass then leave it until my hubby gets home
7) i vomited out of my front window during the glorious "morning sickness" period of my pregnancy
8) i used to like eating pasta with vinegar on it
9) i also used to like eating tomato ketchup sandwiches
10) i always pout on drunken photos - but it never looks sexy
11) i got told i had crohns disease last year only to find out that it was actually my appendix that was the culprit! - phew!
12) like becki i also cry at the drop of a hat - sometimes its so bad i would pay a doctor to surgically remove my tear ducts
13) i once met the Arctic Monkeys in a night club, when they went to shake my hand - i fell over
14) i have a green rabbit teddy called Hip Hop - he is a ninja rabbit
15) Hip Hop has travelled with me on all my holidays
16) I love reading ridiculous "real life" stories
17) I once won a national art competition - the prize was a trip to London
18) I am really gutted that the London Olympics are finished :(
19) I work in claims for a health insurance company *boo - hiss!* ;)
20) I talk about myself all the time - so this game is perfect for me to indulge into the world that is "me"!!
21) I seem really confident on the outside, but inside im crumbling
22) I told a blonde joke to a brunette person once and they got offended by it?!? (btw, im blonde..)
23) I have been to 5 primary schools and 3 secondary schools (we moved round a lot)
24) I passed my Maths GCSE one year ahead than the rest of my class!

1. I love to read and find Jane Austen marathons make for excellent post-op books.

2. My teenage son thinks Pride and Prejudice is the lamest, most boring and tedious book he can imagine.

3. We declare a "book emergency" if my daughter runs out of things to read. Thank god for Kindles!

4. I buy chocolate by the pound for my hubby.

5. My house is a mess. I wish it weren't, but apparently not enough to actually clean anything up.

6. I once had three Nobel laureates to a dinner at my house (two of them prior to their Nobel awards).

7. I was a competitive freestyle skier in my teens: moguls and arials.

8. My sister is one of my favorite people on the planet.

9. I knit too much, but failed in my quest to knit a sweater start-to-finish during the Olympics (I have a sleeve and 1/2 to go).

10. I can tell if I've had a good swim workout if I smile a lot afterward. It really gets my endorphins going. Even my wimpy post-op workout seems to make me smile.

11. My husband helps the kids get their practice time on the flute and the clarinet by playing duets with them. He plays the trumpet. It is really loud, but I still love it--even though post-op headaches mean I have to listen from the other end of the house.

12. I've lived in Australia, Italy and Germany.

13. I can get by in Italian or in German, but translating between the two is scary!

14. I laugh out loud at funny parts of books.

15. My feet are almost always cold. I am wearing Uggs right now, it is mid-August, and we had to run the AC yesterday.

16. I am a certified official for USA Swimming, and want to work Olympic Trials next time around.

17. I am a "full service" Alto. I love it when the choir director at church needs another soprano or another tenor, because then I get the challenge of singing a part I don't know.

18. Lake Tahoe is my happy place.

19. My mother once gave me shot glasses for Christmas. She knows I don't drink hard liquor. They have reindeer etched into the glass. Go figure.

20. Growing up, we had two fluffy white dogs named Cuddles and Snowflake.

21. There are so many bikes on the road of our town that during our five minute drive to church on Sundays, we are only out of sight of bicycles for about ten seconds total. I know; I've counted and timed it.

22. I met my best friend when I started kindergarten. I will have dinner with her on Thursday.

23. I love to play bridge, especially when my friend Kelly is there, because her laugh is guaranteed to make everyone in earshot happy.

24. My wedding ring once belonged to my great-grandmother.

25. My daughter tells me my sense of fashion is horrible. This is either an interesting fact or confirmation of the reality that she is a teen and I am not.

This is really tough... Here goes!

1. If it has wheels I can drive it!

2. My dream job used to be a race car driver or super bike racer.

3. I have no tats.

4. My left ear has been pierced twice but I dont wear earings anymore.

5. I wont hurt any living being unless I feel threatened or my family does. I will catch bugs in the house and take them to my neighbors yard and release them.

6. I like to cook, and consider myself a good cook.

7. I love desert!

8. I started to shave my head due to my motorcycle helmet fit better when shaved.

9. My nicknames include: Monster and Monstrosity

10. Deep down inside I'm a mama's boy. I used to tell my mom I was going to live at home with her forever.

11. I've always hated school.

12. I have two younger sisters, I'm the oldest child.

13. The best vacation I've ever been on was last year when my aunt and uncle took us to Kiowa Island.

14. I have two bearded dragon lizards.

15. I'm scared of snakes.

19. I hate watching reality shows due to they suck you in! If I watch 5 minutes I have to continue to see what will happen next.

23. I dont like fish or Mushrooms.

1) i met my husband at a train station during training

2) in high school i never dated but I loved to wrestle

3) I am a perfectionist, i still use a white glove to check dusting the kids say they do

6) when i had to give up my motorcycle this spring I bought my dream car and decked her out for PGR and named her Ole Navy and even the guys i rode with know her now lol

8) I was stationed in NV, Cali and Hawaii and i came back to Iowa...WHY THE HECK!!! ITS COLD HERE!!!!

11) I hate American food....Love Japanese food...more like addicted!!

12) one of my favorite movies is Rocky Horror Picture Show....and yes I do throw TP in the living room!!

This was much harder than I thought it would be.

1) I love to travel

2) I have been arrested in Russia

3) I have spent time in prisons in Texas and Oklahoma, but never charged with a crime.

4) My favorite place in the world is a tie between the Big Island of Hawaii or a tiny island in the Bahamas.

5) I am 6'4 but my daughter barely reached 5'.

6) I get addicted to certain foods and then for no reason, stop eating it, most recently it was Pretzel MandMs, now it is ELFudge cookies.

7) I love my job.

8) I have never been on a cruise, but would love to go on one.

9)I have OCD, at least that is what others say about me.

10) I have never been on a motorcycle.

11) I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

12) My first wife complained that I was always right, my second wife helped me realize just how annoying I was.

13) I am first generation American, both parents are from Germany.

14) My daughter graduated with an Associate's Degree from a university two weeks before she got her high school diploma.

15) People think I am cynical, I think I am sarcastic.

16) I don't like mean people.

17) I love animals, I am a sucker for dogs.

18) I like WWII movies/shows, favorite is Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and Enemy at the Gates.

20) We renovated our kitchen so we have a nicer place to layout the take-out food. (My wife and I can't cook)

21) I love HD TV, we just got it and can't believe the difference.

23) I wanted to be an aerospace engineer, calculus made it abundantly clear that was not going to happen.

24) I don't like the heat, but I live in Atlanta.

25) I don't drink alcohol, but I have been giving that some serious thought lately.

This is both thrilling and scary for me. I LOVED reading other people's lists.....So here goes.

1. I will be married to my husband 20yrs in January. He is the best person I have ever met.

2. My 2 kids are my world. They are so funny and smart and compassionate. (no, really they are)

3. I love to laugh until my stomach hurts or tears run down my legs. : )

4. I was a premie and didn't have a name for a month until they knew I would survive. (messed up, I know)

5. I am related to Lizzie Borden.

6. I had both my kids natural childbirth, breastfed each for 18m and made their baby food from scratch.

7. I research everything that interests me.

8. I love politics and policy.

9. I love to cook and it makes my husband so happy when I do.

10. I make the best apple pie.

11. I love to sing at the top of my lungs in the car and car dance.

12. Can't live without Homeopathy. It has changed my life and helped my family tremendously.

13. My favorite place on earth is a shack with an outhouse by a lake on Cape Cod that my grandparents owned. (Still have dreams about it)

14. I love to hike but can't do it right now.

15. My 16 year old daughter is an awesome kayaker and has a job teaching it and giving tours.

16. My 13 year old son is Type1 Diabetic and has Sensory Integration Disorder and the sweetest funniest boy ever.

17. I make flax seed hot packs to help with my Chiari and have started selling them in my town.

18. I love, love, love music and have gone to a lot of concerts in my life.

19. I have 1 tattoo and my daughter and I are going soon to get a tatoo together soon. ( can't wait)

20. My perennial garden makes me me very happy.

21. I love TV. my favorites are Reality TV, Dexter, Justified, Deadwood, The Shield, The Closer, ER, Homeland, Nurse Jackie....

23. I was obsessed with Gone With The Wind when I was in High School and was in love with Clark Gable.

24. We are a very sarcastic family and my kids and husband crack me up every day and keep my spirits up.

25. When I worked I ran jewelry stores, designed jewelry, sold loose diamonds and was working towards becoming a Gemologist. (I still miss it very much)

Becki: We do have a lot in common. Funny I'm from Northern VA (just outside DC) and have a northern accent while my parents are from WV and have a southern accent! Opposites on that one! lol

I LOVE braiding my girls hair. Katrina get the brunt of the braids cause she is the oldest and has the longest hair. Emma is starting to want me to braid her hair. I do After I do she runs around the house and looking in all the mirrors but then it falls out cause she just don't have that long of hair.

1. I am the only person I know who had to list "Bacardi Girl" AND "Congressional Intern" on her Security Clearance application.

2. I am paralyzingly afraid of clowns.

3. I have every album Michael Ball has ever released.

4. I am a closet TwiHard.

5. When I was born, the doctor told my mom I was a false pregnancy. She was awaiting a D&C when an intern doing a project on false pregnancy asked to examine her, and found a heartbeat.

6. I was stationed in Kosovo for a year and a half and loved it. I would go back in a heart beat.

7. I am a Goth chick, unless it is pink, fluffy, or shiny, in which case, I need to own it.

8. My current Persian is the third cat I've had in my life (I'm 37).

9. I've visited 49 of the 50 states, and lived in four foreign countries.

10. I play Cafe World as a stress reducer.

11. I watch cooking shows like men watch football.

12. About a month ago, I saw a video of rescued beagles seeing the sun and feeling grass for the first time. I cried for an hour.

13. I'm working on applying to go back to school for a PhD in Clinical Psychology, to get into profiling.

14. Angel Food cake make both me and my cat hiccup.

15. I fall asleep every night watching the old Garfield cartoon on DVD. I brought it to Kosovo and Iraq to sleep to.

16. My ex-husband told me later that he almost called off the wedding at Pre-Cana because he didn't "Feeling the thunderbolts from the movies." The Deacon and I talked him out of it. We divorced a year later.

17. I drove fifty miles into the desert once just to see "THE THING".

18. I memorized Phantom of the Opera in German phonetically.

19. I met the late Senator Ted Kennedy in an elevator once in the Senate. It was one of the most exciting moments of my life. He held the door for me and asked "Which floor?"

20. I never eat the edges of Poptarts.

21. I saw the movie "ET" in the theatres as a child. I had screaming nightmares for a week. He still scares me, even in toy form.

22. I am descended from the whalers Herman Melville wrote "Moby Dick" about. What he left out of the book was they ate one of the crew members after the whale attack. I'm related to the eater, and the eaten.

23. We weren't allowed to have pets in law school housing. I kept a rabbit, Jeuje, hidden in my room. When the maid came by, I hid her in the back of my closet, behind the coats.

24. I really wish in my heart I could believe in most religions, but I just lack the ability to make the leap from "Jesus was an amazing teacher" to "He was the Son of God." Since I can see and feel nature, I became a witch because I can believe what I see, but I wasn't given the gift of faith in the unseen.

25. The first day of seventh grade, someone came into our history class and asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. I said "a parapsychologist". I was called into the principal's office later that day by the Guidance Counselor, and told to "act more normal".

Wow, that was incredibly difficult!!!!!!!!!

This looks like fun so wanted to give it a go.

  1. I moved to the US 6 years ago tomorrow! With my husband-to-be and our 2 year old daughter. 6 suitcases and 10 boxes of belongings.
  2. My wedding was perfect. At sunset on fort de soto beach in fl with just 10 guests. No fuss and very cheap lol
  3. I have 2 amazing children who make me smile everyday and know how to cheer me up when I need it.
  4. I am English (not British - that is a major pet hate of mine) I am from England (not the UK, not Britain)
  5. My son was born in the US and is hopefully the first of many generations of our family to be born here.
  6. When we first moved here we lived in FL for 3 months on the street where Trayvin Martin was killed last year.
  7. I did not have any pain relief during childbirth - both times.
  8. I am dreading turning 30 this year.
  9. I knew after 3 months of dating that I had met my soulmate. We are as happy now as we were then.
  10. Life keeps throwing us hurdles and we keep making it through.
  11. I am 5ft 4 and my husband is 6ft 5. I hope my kids don’t grow too much taller than me.
  12. My daughter is my mini-me. Looks just like me and acts just like me (so I’m told)
  13. My best friend is 6 days older than me and we have known each other our entire lives. And still remain close even though I now live 3000 miles away.
  14. We have no family living in the US and we like it that way.
  15. I do not believe in God or Jesus. I have no religion and am allowing my children to come to their own decisions and beliefs when it comes to religion.
  16. I drink way too much caffeine. But it does not keep me awake…ever!
  17. I now live in NJ and didn’t know how beautiful if was until we arrived. It really is the garden state.
  18. My kids have strong NE accents and I love it.
  19. My family and friends in England think I have an American accent now. But my American friends still struggle to decipher my English accent.
  20. I love Disney World and all things Disney.
  21. I used to live 20 miles outside of NYC and only went a handful of times. The tall buildings make me feel claustrophobic.
  22. I am slightly claustrophobic. I will avoid elevators if more than a couple of people are inside.
  23. I hate to clean and cook. My husband does a great job of both.
  24. I read all the hunger games and twilight books in the space of 2 months last year.
  25. After watching Toy Story 3 I asked my mom to look after all of my stuffed animals and to not throw them out. They are now in the attic at my grandmothers house.
