Just thought we could all use a moment to think about what is unique,strange or funny about ourselves - no chiari stuff - that is #26 for all of us. I am stealing this from Facebook - but still an oldie but a goodie. I will start

  1. When eating pretzels I bight them length wise.
  2. When folding laundry I have to pat whatever I fold. When I try not to pat it is an effort. So fold,put in pile then pat,pat
  3. I think there is a solution to every problem
  4. I am pretty small but I have a voice that sounds like I gargle with rocks. I would love blame you know what but it has always been really deep and I scream!!
  5. I have a bump on either side of my mouth on the inside -if you don’t have it you won’t understand if you do have then you will be surprised that others don’t.
  6. When eating carrots (canned wheels) I pop out the center when eating them

1. Strange but true – I love to rub my stomach in a clockwise motion after eating a good meal.

12. One of my greatest birthdays was when my mother got lost going to Sea World. We did many other fun things instead.
13. I am afraid of snakes, just like Indiana Jones
14. I am a closet Trekkie(classic not any others)
15. I cried when Spock died in Wrath of Khan
16. If it is something that I am really into (think Lord of the Rings) I will read the books first before watching the movie and mentally compare
17. Steven King’s writings still scare me, especially after reading IT
18. I miss rotary phones, reminds me of simpler times
19. I am thinking of writing a book poetry and musings
20. I still like reading Dr. Suess and not because I have kids, he is a really cool author
21. If I never ate it, do not tell me what it is cause I will like it. After you tell me, I will not like or eat it again
22. I want o learn how to build a robot
23. I would love to travel the world and see the off the beaten path things. Can’t stand the tourist crowd and I believe you learn more about the history and culture that way
24. I once taught a young man (17 YO) who was going to spend the rest of his life in jail and miss the precious moments of his child being born. Sad, I know.
25. This was the hardest thing I had to do in quite a while.

This is fun! Jealous of you tall people...

1. I'm 4'11. All my pants are frayed because even the short sizes end up getting walked on a bit.

2. My husband is 6'5. We get funny looks sometimes.

3. I have a fat cat named Buttercup who sometimes sounds like she can talk. She says mom and no. lol

4. My favorite places are Savannah and New Orleans. I love feeling like I've stepped back in time!

5. I have 12 tattoos and I want 3 more.

6. I love to read. I will read 3 or 4 books at a time, moving from one to the other depending on my mood.

7. I love going to concerts. Especially metal concerts.

8. Like Becki I was a teen mom.

9. I'm an accountant. While working full time is exhausting I do like the job.

10. The worst experience of my life was having my tonsils removed at age 29. The pain was agonizing and lasted over 2 weeks. It made labor seem like a day at the beach.

11. I love watching British TV shows on Netflix. IT Crowd, Coupling, and the Inbetweeners are my favs.

12. I've been on a gluten free diet for two years.

13. I've read every Agatha Christie book I've been able to find.

14. I watch way too much TV. I'm an HBO and AMC series junkie.

15. I love to make (and eat) desserts.

16. I love to hiking at state parks when I have the energy.

17. Even after living in the south for 22 years I still get laughed at for my northern accent sometimes.

18. I used to be a reservation agent for Hooters Airlines.

19. I hate to clean house. I do what has to be done cleaning wise but can ignore clutter.

20. I love watching comedies. Real life is too serious so when I go to the movies I just want ridiculous funniness.

22. I have grey eyes and I'm always trying to wear eyeshadow to make them more blue or more green. lol

23. My pupils are always dialated. I got lots of drug talks in school which frustrated me to no end. I'm not on drugs! lol

my mum is the short one at 5'4".. all her brothers and parents are much taller.. including myself. im 5'10" and tower over her.. i call her my little mummy haha

7) i vomited out of my front window during the glorious "morning sickness" period of my pregnancy

10) i always pout on drunken photos - but it never looks sexy
11) i got told i had crohns disease last year only to find out that it was actually my appendix that was the culprit! - phew!
12) like becki i also cry at the drop of a hat - sometimes its so bad i would pay a doctor to surgically remove my tear ducts
13) i once met the Arctic Monkeys in a night club, when they went to shake my hand - i fell over
14) i have a green rabbit teddy called Hip Hop - he is a ninja rabbit
15) Hip Hop has travelled with me on all my holidays
16) I love reading ridiculous "real life" stories
17) I once won a national art competition - the prize was a trip to London
18) I am really gutted that the London Olympics are finished :(

1. I love to read and find Jane Austen marathons make for excellent post-op books.

2. My teenage son thinks Pride and Prejudice is the lamest, most boring and tedious book he can imagine.

3. We declare a "book emergency" if my daughter runs out of things to read. Thank god for Kindles!

4. I buy chocolate by the pound for my hubby.

5. My house is a mess. I wish it weren't, but apparently not enough to actually clean anything up.

6. I once had three Nobel laureates to a dinner at my house (two of them prior to their Nobel awards).

7. I was a competitive freestyle skier in my teens: moguls and arials.

8. My sister is one of my favorite people on the planet.

9. I knit too much, but failed in my quest to knit a sweater start-to-finish during the Olympics (I have a sleeve and 1/2 to go).

10. I can tell if I've had a good swim workout if I smile a lot afterward. It really gets my endorphins going. Even my wimpy post-op workout seems to make me smile.

11. My husband helps the kids get their practice time on the flute and the clarinet by playing duets with them. He plays the trumpet. It is really loud, but I still love it--even though post-op headaches mean I have to listen from the other end of the house.

12. I've lived in Australia, Italy and Germany.

13. I can get by in Italian or in German, but translating between the two is scary!

14. I laugh out loud at funny parts of books.

15. My feet are almost always cold. I am wearing Uggs right now, it is mid-August, and we had to run the AC yesterday.

16. I am a certified official for USA Swimming, and want to work Olympic Trials next time around.

17. I am a "full service" Alto. I love it when the choir director at church needs another soprano or another tenor, because then I get the challenge of singing a part I don't know.

18. Lake Tahoe is my happy place.

19. My mother once gave me shot glasses for Christmas. She knows I don't drink hard liquor. They have reindeer etched into the glass. Go figure.

20. Growing up, we had two fluffy white dogs named Cuddles and Snowflake.

21. There are so many bikes on the road of our town that during our five minute drive to church on Sundays, we are only out of sight of bicycles for about ten seconds total. I know; I've counted and timed it.

22. I met my best friend when I started kindergarten. I will have dinner with her on Thursday.

23. I love to play bridge, especially when my friend Kelly is there, because her laugh is guaranteed to make everyone in earshot happy.

24. My wedding ring once belonged to my great-grandmother.

25. My daughter tells me my sense of fashion is horrible. This is either an interesting fact or confirmation of the reality that she is a teen and I am not.

15. My 16 year old daughter is an awesome kayaker and has a job teaching it and giving tours.

Becki: We do have a lot in common. Funny I'm from Northern VA (just outside DC) and have a northern accent while my parents are from WV and have a southern accent! Opposites on that one! lol

I LOVE braiding my girls hair. Katrina get the brunt of the braids cause she is the oldest and has the longest hair. Emma is starting to want me to braid her hair. I do After I do she runs around the house and looking in all the mirrors but then it falls out cause she just don't have that long of hair.

7. I am a Goth chick, unless it is pink, fluffy, or shiny, in which case, I need to own it.

8. My current Persian is the third cat I've had in my life (I'm 37).

22. I am descended from the whalers Herman Melville wrote "Moby Dick" about. What he left out of the book was they ate one of the crew members after the whale attack. I'm related to the eater, and the eaten.

23. We weren't allowed to have pets in law school housing. I kept a rabbit, Jeuje, hidden in my room. When the maid came by, I hid her in the back of my closet, behind the coats.

24. I really wish in my heart I could believe in most religions, but I just lack the ability to make the leap from "Jesus was an amazing teacher" to "He was the Son of God." Since I can see and feel nature, I became a witch because I can believe what I see, but I wasn't given the gift of faith in the unseen.

25. The first day of seventh grade, someone came into our history class and asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up. I said "a parapsychologist". I was called into the principal's office later that day by the Guidance Counselor, and told to "act more normal".

This looks like fun so wanted to give it a go.

  1. I moved to the US 6 years ago tomorrow! With my husband-to-be and our 2 year old daughter. 6 suitcases and 10 boxes of belongings.
  2. My wedding was perfect. At sunset on fort de soto beach in fl with just 10 guests. No fuss and very cheap lol
  3. I have 2 amazing children who make me smile everyday and know how to cheer me up when I need it.
  4. I am English (not British - that is a major pet hate of mine) I am from England (not the UK, not Britain)
  5. My son was born in the US and is hopefully the first of many generations of our family to be born here.
  6. When we first moved here we lived in FL for 3 months on the street where Trayvin Martin was killed last year.
  7. I did not have any pain relief during childbirth - both times.
  8. I am dreading turning 30 this year.
  9. I knew after 3 months of dating that I had met my soulmate. We are as happy now as we were then.
  10. Life keeps throwing us hurdles and we keep making it through.
  11. I am 5ft 4 and my husband is 6ft 5. I hope my kids don’t grow too much taller than me.
  12. My daughter is my mini-me. Looks just like me and acts just like me (so I’m told)
