Anyone having problems when they have lack of sleep the headaches seem to get worse. This is happening a lot to me lately. But I am also a bit of insomniac. But curious if anyone has same issues . It can be annoying and frustrating because I do work part-time and sometimes I don’t have time to take a cat nap in afternoon.
Hi Tazz,
Glad to hear you’re able to work at least part-time. I have similar issues. I don’t have any suggestions, but i can share my experience. I’m finding that any time I get tired it intensifies my symptoms.
Some days any movement I make my head thumps. I’ve had insomnia for nearly 15 years. Most nights I sleep no more that 2 at most 3 consecutive hours before I’m wide awake for couple hours. This cycle repeats until morning. No matter how early or late i go to bed. I have also noticed when I’m tired I have difficulty talking-coming up with words, organizing thoughts and even a drooping left eye. I had to leave work completely. It was just too much. I could barely make it though a few hours before I would get exhausted, physically and mentally, along with headaches, neck pain (neck felt as if was too weak to hold my head up). I would have to go to sleep to slow the downward progression. When feel this way sleep is more like I laid down and passed out. Just feels strange.
. After doing this for past 15 years, I just couldn’t drag myself to work any more. Reduced activity has helped, but I have to be mindful that I don’t over exert myself. A trip to the grocery store can empty my energy and intensify head pain. So, I survive by setting my own limits. I no longer feel I have to explain or justify myself to others, doctors included. I know what may seem to.others as simple and easy can wipe me out.
That’s interesting bc I feel I am the opposite way. I get horrible insomnia when the headaches are bad (like now)
I’m not sure if it’s just me but it seems like the headache then the neck and R shoulder and even arm. My back can hurt as well (but I have a broken and incorrectly healed pelvis)
Much lately my headaches have been so bad it feels like the bones in my face hurt. I have no other way to describe it. It’s a brutal pain.
Yes, if I don’t get enough sleep and or push myself to stay up for extended hours I get a headache that won’t go away unless I go to sleep and rest a lot for the next few days to get rid of the headache. I am trying to not over do and listen to my body and rest enough so as to not get that dreaded headache.
I happy I am not alone at least at work I have understanding managers who allow me to take a 5 minute breaj when I need to.
