Had to cancel MRI of brain and MRI of c spine health ins. Is terrible my husband pays 133.00 weekly for coverage for us at his job. The one he has is terrible I fought with them even over blood pressure meds b/4 I was diagnosed. Now I have a 4000.00 deductible that has to be met yearly. Tommorow I was to receive MRI of brain and c-spine. 1- they only pay 60 percent which is allowable charges 2 - I would have to pay my cost of 962.00 + 60.00 copayment for appt the nurse called today and said ins co. Did not approve it damn here I go again they probally don’t know what chiari is. When I had cancer 12 years ago sx chemo radiation and I did work at musc hosp ins was good then today in our world it is terrible we work hard for everything and if you get sick you are screwed prisoners have 3 hot meals a/c bed to sleep on and if on death row he gets cancer he get chemo and what ever he needs and once again he is on death row. My son is army the us fights because we were bombed (911) we blow things up and them we rebuild for them. And we have homeless people on the streets seniors don’t get all there meds because they on a fixed income and the need elec and food so they miss a lot of there medication. All all of us is tax payers and we pay taxes to take care of the prisoners and on and on and on and the us cant even afford to take care of its people because we take care of other countries , prisoners . Ok please excuse me I just needed to vent and I honestly can say of course I have a headache once again because of stress.
Vent and I am sorry to hear this news. Something I found out maybe it will help. I hope it does help but with many of my medical bills from the hospital I ask if I am eligible for the financial assistance program. Usually I am and it helps quite a bite. Maybe something to look into for help.
As for the rest I completely agree with you unfortunately or fortunately we were raised to respect the laws and other people and property. Maybe prisoners should be back on the old road gangs doing work instead of enjoying all the perks they do.
Seniors should get better treatment. I am venting on your vent. Sorry. But seriously if you can look into the financial assistance all it usually takes is a call to the billing office and they can guide you or tell you what information they need to make their decision
I am sorry to hear all the insurance issues. I dealt with the same thing. I worked as a nurse and my husband a toolmaker, but were still unable to pay everything they ask we made to much money for any of the assistant programs. I had to undergo brain surgery then emergency shunt placement for a million dollar computerized shunt (crazy) I did finally get some relief when we reach our out of pocket expense, then insurance paid 100% of the bills. I finally was forced into bankruptcy after my bill payment reach 5600 a month. I am now disabled and on medicare but it was a long road. I have also found out that drug companies have there meds available if you can not afford them. I know how cray this insurance thing is and the rules very state to state. A lot of the Chiari clinics have funds set up for their patients.
Yep we make to much also and I have applied for disability if people had to wait on that you would lose everything thank you but in the world today our health care system is sorry
I know about the financial asst. and the drug companies I help my daughter and it took 2 years to get disability I have helped my brother get okayed for hosp asst I was out of work when I moved here could not afford self pay ins. Went to try for asst because I was recovering from cancer and I did not fall in the category I was not young enough and have 10 or so kids and I was not old enough a very dear friend of mine and my families cancer came back after 5years and he passed away before he was approved for social security I did get asst from drug companies for my meds for a year I pay payments to the hosp drs labs etc etc I raised 3 fine children and they have made me proud I raised them myself mostly alone worked 1 full time job and 3 part time teaching them that life is hard and myself would not use the system what so ever and I am still sick and I am pushing myself and a least working some part time and on that note I must get ready for work
