I am newly diagnosed, have MRI of spine today after brain MRI last week. My primary Dr. has no idea what this condition is about and wants to refer me to a neurophysiologist who has no history of treating this condition. She thinks a lot of it is in my head. I have done some research and it looks like a Neurosurgeon is where I need to be. I am beyond miserable and don't want to waste time with Dr.'s that are not familiar with this condition and are going to try me on a ton of meds, etc. I want someone who understands and has options.
I live in the Greater St. Louis metro area and have been given the name of a few Dr's but I am so unsure where to go - how to look for someone? Does anyone have any experience in the region or with finding a Dr. period.
