My neurologist has prescribed 3 meds to help with headaches. I am leary of mixing these medications.
She has prescribed Effexor 75mg and Depakote 250 mg daily. She also gave me Maxalt to take on the ondset of a severe headache.
Has anyone else here taken this combination?
My NL warned me not to take Depakote if I ever wanted to have children when he prescribed it to me. It didn't help though :( .
I take Maxalt at the onset of a severe headache. I found it to be the only thing that works for me. I don't take Depakote, but I do take Gabapentin (Neurontin).

No, I have not personally taken that combo…I always ask my pharmacist when in doubt about medication combos…they seem to much more knowledgeable about this…as I write this I am laughing…I guess the pharmacist is more knowledgeable …that is their job!!LOL
I would go see or phone your pharmacist .
