I’ve recently seen Dr. Houston (Neurosurgeon) in Seattle. He says that I’m a candidate for surgery and is referring me to Dr.Ellenbogen. I’m wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. I’ve been waiting about two weeks just for Dr Ellenbogen’s office to contact me so I can schedule an appointment. I feel like I’m in limbo.
Waiting can be difficult. When I am faced with waiting for something or feel like I am in limbo, I try hard to focus my mind on things that are relaxing. I also try to stay as busy as I am able to, it helps time pass and keeps my mind off whatever I am waiting for. Please keep us updated on how the appointment progresses. Hugs.
Thank you for the support. It’s hard not think about it.I work a lot and my vision in my right eye is terrible since it started swelling in February. And of course the headache every single day.I work in retail and every regular customer comments on how bad it looks. But I’m trying to concentrate on the positive, really I am. Patience is a virtue:) I love this community and how supportive everyone is.
I'm from Seattle and tried to get in to see Dr. Ellenbogen and it took weeks for them to call me back and then almost two months to get in to see him. Then when I did before he would agree to do the Chiari surgery on me he had me go to a headache specialist first which took another month and a half. When I called his office to tell them my symptoms and headaches were unbearable and I needed help they told me he had no appointments open and I had to wait my turn. I was in so much pain and so sick I was sent to Dr. Steven Monteith at Swedish Hospital in Seattle and he did the surgery within a week. I hope you have better luck than I did with him and his staff.
