Ditched the PCP

I had a PCP who never helped me at all. I would request referrals and tell him constantly that I didn’t feel good and that I was in pain. His response was always " You’ve got a lot going on with your sick daughter". I asked him "What do I have to do to get pain relief, drive into oncoming traffic? He labeled me as suicidal and used that as a reason for not giving me any pain meds. He also said blamed every ache and pain on Chiari ausaid that I would have to discuss it with my neurosurgeon.

Well, I found me a new PCP and she is great. She understood that I cannot be in pain all day. She put me on diclofenac ( they are testing me for rheumatoid arthritis) and 50 mg of tramadol. It doesn’t eliminate all of the pain. But at least I am mo longer crying myself to sleep at night.

I'm certainly glad you moved on from your former doctor, Nykki, and that you have gotten some relief.

Great to hear that you found a better PCP, Nykki.

I feel that any doctor who tries to use whatever excuse they can to dance around the issue needs a good punch in the face, but that's my personal opinion. Believe me, I've met plenty of doctors that I wanted to throw a punch or two at (mostly those that I've worked with as a nurse), but for the most part as a patient, I've been fortunate to have pretty good doctors.

Hope this new PCP you found is one that you'll be able to stick with for a long time.
