Disability Tag

How many of you have a disability tag but able to walk with out assistance? I got one for my daughter when she end up in the wheelchair. It is about to expire in a month. I'm debating if I should get another one. This is my debate yes she can walk now. There is some days she can walk but she is in pain. We live in Houston,Texas population to many. It is very hard to find a parking space close to the doors. Even when you go to walmart at 1 am you still can not find one. If I can find one close I will park there and not in the handicap parking because I feel some one might need it more then us. I'm just afraid if she having a painful day she will not be able to hike it to the front door of the store. If she needs her wheelchair thats a lot of pushing for me. I'm not that young any more lol. Just not sure what to do.

You need to have it renewed. If you even have any question about her needing one then you should go get one.

I would say if she needs it at all…get it. She doesn’t have to be in a wheelchair. If it’s too painful for her to walk, then she is more than justified in needing it. It doesn’t sound like the privilege is being abused at all…you only use it when needed and when there aren’t other spaces available. I think you should definitely get it renewed! I can only stand or walk around for about 10-15 minutes before pain becomes unbarable. I find myself not going places because of this. I think it’s time for me to get one too.

Susan,

I’ve had my disability tag for 9 years. I use it when I need it

and dont use if I’m doing ok that day! I am able to walk, by the
way. Get it so you have it when

you need it! :o)

Hi Susan,

I would definitely have it renewed. I am so happy she can walk now. She may have a bad day and you will need it. I have one and it is all I can do some days just to walk around a store, if I was parked far away I would never make it.
