Diagnosed with Chiari 0

After 8 years of undiagnosed pain I have been recently diagnosed with with Chiari 0. Upon research, I have found very little on Chiari 0. Only that it is like Cbiari 1 but not necessarily with the guideline protrusion. Some have told me Chiari 0 is a way for doctors to make money and it’s not real. I’m not sure what to believe now.

Thank you. They want me to go to New York to do an guided Atlas adjustment under MRI. Before & AFTER the adjustment they check the flow. They are telling me insurance doesn’t cover the procedure cause it’s some machine the guy patented. It’s going to cost me $7100 that I don’t have. I’m very frustrated and confused. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it very much.

Southern, 7100$ is a lot of money, that blew my hair back a little bit. If there is a way to restore nirmal CSF flow and reduce symptoms without surgery there is no price too high, but I’m wondering if this is atlas orthogonal chiropractic with 2 MRIs. I had atlas orthogonal adjustments before I even knew I chiari. It helped, and after some time the adjustments held, even after the decompression surgery. I still had the surgery so obviously didn’t make a big enough improvement over all. I think we are all in agreement that regular, manual chiropractic adjustments are huge NO for someone with Chiari and or EDS, but AO is not manual adjusment - it’s percussive. Just an idea to look into to see if you can get this same treatment without the special machine??? Let us know what you learn about this I’m curious.

my pain doctor an I decided to hold off on the New York trip because of the cost. my doctor was very surprised. so Im looking for a doctor that does the Atlas Orthogonal technique. Unfortunately none are in my Aetna network. I feel like I am so strapped finacially at this point its not even funny. I just want the occipital nerve pain in my head to stop. I can barely lay my head on my pillow. Im hoping it works Fingers crossed.

Southern, I will keep my fingers crossed :). Also some things that have helped a lot of us that are OTC are daily higher dose of vitamin d3, daily magnesium supplements, b vitamins, and arnica gel to the neck and back of head.
