I had my first decompression surgery yesterday (the 2nd) at 11am. Spent the night in ICU and got to come home this evening. I’ve been sick, nauseous, in a LOT of pain; but I’m definitely more comfortable in my own bed than in a hospital room. Hopefully recovery continues to go smooth!
Oh friend so sorry for the pain…have someone make a call for you for different pain meds and nausea meds. Try to sleep sleep sleep. Sending prayers for relaxation and restful sleep.

Which decompression surgery did you get? The one with the duraplasty or the more minimally invasive one? Proud of you for being so brave! You'll be up and feeling better soon. Sleep, repair and heal. Sending you love!

I had where they did have to cut into the dura and patch it back!

Good luck on your recovery! Take your time and don't let anyone rush you to do more than you can too soon. It seems strange, however, I did not see major improvements until the 11th or 12th month after surgery. So, if it take the full year, let it take the full year!
