My goal is to join the Air Force however because I am symptomatic from the Chiari I am unable to join. Does anyone know that if I have the decompressive surgery if I will be admitted? Has anyone ever had the surgery and then joined the military? I looked online but I only found instances where people joined and did not know they had Chiari unitl they were in boot camp
I see my PCM ( base dr) next wednesday ill ask him for ya. Im in the Air Force and wasnt diagnosed until after i joined but you should be able to there not discharging me or anything after I have my surgery.
