Can anyone read an MRI?

Hi everyone,

I was diagnosed with Chiari I 6mm in Aug of 2013.

I have just obtained a CD of an older MRI from 2004.

I was complaining of the same symptoms then as I am now.

I was told my MRI in 2004 was normal.

I was wondering if anyone sees the Chiari in the 2004 MRI.

I honestly think I s

ee it but I am just guessing based on images off the internet.

Any help would be appreciated! :-)

Fuzzy pic 4 sure

Yes, it appears u have Chiari >5mm on this, and may have a high cervical syrinx, but too fuzzy a shot to confirm this. Chiari is definite and tight pos. fossa.

Yes, I know it's fuzzy...weird, huh?

Thanks for your input.

I am going to bring this to my NS appt Thurs.

I will ask about possible syrinx and tight fossa.

What does a tight fossa indicate? A small neck hole?

We honestly ask Members not to post MRI's or other diagnostics and ask for them to be read by other Members. There are too many liability implications. We recommend to have either a radiologist or another medical professional read MRI's . You can though send a private message to say Mandy, Abby or myself and we could read this for you in private. I also have an MRI from 1993 that shows a CM herniation and no one ever told me & it would have changed my situation drastically if I had been correctly diagnosed & treated then.

Thanks for understanding,

Tracy Z.

Oops! Didn't realize that.

Sorry.

I will send you guys a PM.

Thanks!

For what it's worth: I will NOT hold anyone accountable.

Dr Beijjani already diagnosed me as having Chiari and I am already a candidate for surgery.

Just was curious if it was missed.

I will ask him Thursday.

I apologize for posting.

:-)
