1 year post op appointment and CINE

I saw good ole Dr. Zuch yesterday after my CINE MRI. I can't believe it has been a year. Well, technically not yet, at this point last year I was not even diagnosed. But by the time I did see him I was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later.

He sat down all serious next to me. Then proceeded to tell me that my MRI looked great. Then he changed it to fantastic. My tonsils have been "sucked back up" into my cerebellum. There is zero herniation. He pulled up my preop MRI and the current one to show me, he knows I like to see it. I could see the difference! It was unbelievable. He is not the slightest bit concerned about the headaches. I'm going to try to not wear my stethoscope around my neck and see if that helps at all.

I'm not trying to rub it in for people who are having a difficult time...trust me, I was there. However, I want people to know that it can get better!

Great news! I just had my check up with DR. Ringer and my csf is now completely unrestricted! It’s such a relief!

I Find that I cannot wear racer back bras now because they cause head and neck tension so perhaps the stethoscope is contributing to your pain. I also can’t lift weights overhead…I think those neck muscles take a long while to fully get their strength back!

I am a week and a half post op--so this gives me hope!! as a mother of 4 this is much needed hope! Thank you for this post. I am ready to start the road of recovery and be able to take care of myself and my children again. I am so happy that you have found relief. I wish all Chiari Patients could be that lucky! Congrats to you!!
