Tilt table

Hello, I’m new here and have a question.
Does Everyone With Chiari fail the tilt table test?
Thank you in advance!

No. USUALLy (there are exceptions) the only time they do a tilt table test as part of a Chiari work up is when one has had “drop attacks” . With Drop Attacks you do not feel faint or light headed Drop attacks are when your muscles just did not work and find yourself on the floor. There is usually no recognized loss of consciousness and the event is remembered. It is a symptom, not a diagnosis. It is a red flag symptom for brainstem compression but needs to be distinguished from POTS or other cardiac issues.

It is important to remember that drop in patients with Chiari I malformation can mimic other paroxysmal events such as epilepsy and cardiogenic syncope which have nothing to do with the Chiari
