Thank you. Hubby had a MRI done this past week. He is having pain in neck down his thumb is numb all the time and has some numbness in for arm area. It started out little over a month ago and is getting worse. This is what he read on the report. Prominent Chiari I Malformation of the posterior fossa with almost 22 mm of cerebellar tonsillar ectipia into the upper cervical canal with marked pointing of cerebellar tonsils in addition to the ectopia with mild degree of kinking at the cerviomedullary junction and distortion of 4th ventricle without obvious compression and no syrinx formation is identified. We see his regular doctor on Monday and I am sure we will be going to see the Neurosurgeon who did my decompression surgery 8 years ago. I have been praying all day. Hubby keeps saying it may not be that bad. you have to hear from the doctor. I am freaking out, my sister just had this surgery done about two weeks ago.
How did your husband's appointment go?
He has two herniated disk on top of the 22 mm Chiari. Yesterday they scheduled a contrast mri then the neurosurgeon will call for an appointment. He received a call from our nurse, Dr. Sterm NS said he doesn’t need the contrast mri. He will finish looking at everything the will call with an appointment to go over everything. So I am guessing no matter what he’s having the decompression surgery done. We are both still shocked. Lot to take in since my hubby is the sole provider for our family.
