Thank you!

Lookin forward to meeting the NS tomm. A little nervous. Kinda over-whelmed with emotions. Afterall, I've never met or even talked to anyone with similar conditions, until all of you. No more feeling alone. Trying to act normal when I couldn't. It's an undescribeable feeling, and I can't thank you all enough.

Robbie,

Good luck tomorrow! I am so glad that you finally may get some answers andpossibly some relief. We are all here to listen and offer support. I am so grateful for this site also. It is so nice to talk with other Chiarians....they are the only ones that can really understand. It has helped me a lot through the past year. Please let us know how your appointment goes. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Make sure you have your list of symptoms ready and if possible...take someone with you. It can be an overwhelming experience and you may forget some of the information. It is always nice to have someone there for support, but also as another ear and brain to help you remember.

nicolee,

Thanks for the support and advice. Almost anything would be an improvement. My health has decreased so much in a few months. It has my wife scared. I can't keep it from the chidren anymore, so they're nervous. I just want something to help them feel better, and ease thier worries. You will all be the first to know as soon as I do.

Robbie,

Hi and welcome,Is your wife able to go with you to the appointment? as nicolee said its always nice to have another set of ears there. If so take a list of all your questions with you and she can write the answers down.(as needed-some asnwers dont need to be written down) even if you dont take questions with I always say take a note pad and pen with ya never know when you will want to jot something down.

and Yes dont forget your symptoms list!

good luck

Lisa

It was a very over-whelming feeling for me too. I just sat and sobbed at my 1st NS appt. He probably thought I was crazy...LOL Make sure and ask lots of questions about his experience with Chiari and don't take no for an answer. My NS tried to talk me out of the surgery at first, but then gave in. If that is what you feel you need or other treatments make sure you get them! After my surgery he apologized to me and my family because it ended up being worse than he thought. I am only 4 weeks out and I have already had pain free moments and yesterday was even a full day of being pain free. I also have recovered the majority of all my sensations back and even my memory loss is gone! I'm a true believer!!!

Good Luck and I can't wait to hear how it all went!

Met the NS today. Very knowledgeable...had an answer for everything. Looks like surgery in my near future. I've got to go back next Tuesday and meet with his associate to discuss my options, but he feels surgery is my option. Personnaly, with the way I've been feeling recently, anything would be an improvement.

Robbie- Hi

Glad you had a good appointment and got your questions answered and feel comfortable with the Neurosurgeon. Wish you all the best and much success...

May I ask, Who is your Neurosurgeon and where are you having your surgery done at?

Lisa

Lisa,

Thanks again, I met with Dr.Genovese in Lathem and I go to see his associate Dr.Lovely on Tuesday. I believe it's going to be at St.Peter's in Albany. Won't know for sure until I get the date. I will definately keeping everyone up to date as I get it.
