I just wanted to say that thanks to the advise I was given last month by everyone, I did not have to suffer through the run around like most of the others I have read about. Now, I have been having symptoms for years and have been to several different types of doctors in the past 12 years, but once I got an MRI and it showed a 5mm herniation, I got answers pretty quick. My son and I both went to seperate Neurologists for headaches mainly and both had MRIs done, we both have 5 mm herniation. So, I started searching and found this site and started asking questions, almost everyone advised me to skip the Neurologist and find a Neurosurgeon who specializes in Chiari, which I did. I am so thankfull that I listened, because I met with the NS, went and had the whole spine scanned and now I am having surgery July 10th. My son went to a different NS, who does not reccomened surgery at this time since he has very few symptoms. But I just wanted to thank everyone for saving me the trouble of going to a doctor who doesnt know about Chiari. Thank you, Thank YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
I am so glad to hear that you got in with an experienced NS:) I’m also glad that the advice you got here helped you to find the “right” doctor to help you:) If you haven’t already, you should add your surgery date to our events, so we can all share our thoughts and prayers.
