Hi everyone,
2 weeks from today I'm having my decompression surgery. I have many different feelings about surgery. My NS told me that if I get a build up of CSF at the site of decompression he will put a permanent shunt in. I was wondering if any of you had a permanent shut placed? I'm trying to get a feel for what my recovery will be like after my decompression . Can you tell me about yours.... pain? Moving around? Doing things ?
I haven’t had surgery yet and find out Tuesday if I will. But since I can hardly walk anymore I probably will.
My NS requires his patients to watch his webinar on chiari surgery and it is clear that he always puts a permanent shunt in.
Hopefully others will respond with their experiences to offer peace of mind.
Good luck with your surgery and I’ll keep you in my prayers!
Kelc, Best wishes with your upcoming surgery in a few days.
Hugs,
Laurie
Good luck, I go in Monday for mine as well......scary though
