Hi everyone,
I’ve had my results back from my MRI that I had last night. My NS said that everything looked reasonably fine, but there’s clearly something that’s going wrong.
I’m being admitted for Intracranial Pressure Monitoring at some point in the coming days, has anyone had this?
I feel like my life is falling apart, I don’t think I’ve ever felt this unstable. I hate to moan on, but up until now i’ve kept everything together.
If anyone has had a pressure monitor or know of anything that could be disrupting everything in my brain, I really would appreciate any comments or questions.
Thanks

Ventriculostomy is the gold standard. NONE of the non-invasive techniques are accurate enough to make a reliable decision on. Transcranial Doppler, tympanic membrane displacement, optic nerve sheath diameter, CT scan/MRI and fundoscopy, simply have to many variables (this includes the headache centers favorite sales tool the Cine MRI which is being used less an less by the more reputable centers.
Your doc may choose instead of the Ventriculostomy to do microtransducers instead. They seem to be almost as accurate although sometimes effected by "zero drift." In any event this is a gold standard test and will provide many answers. Sounds like you have a great doc who wants answers before cracking heads open. Cherish him.
