So this is all new to me so hope I am doing this right. My now 3yr old had decompression in May 2011… His syrinx is almost gone which is a great success… But as he has grown and now talks a lot more he suffers from headaches… These headaches really are only when he is exerted. Running, playing hard… All the things 3yr old boys do… NS said back then that he may need the additional surg to open the dura but I never wanted to think of that. MRI from September shows syrinx looking great, but still compression at the base. So, now what! Dr. Say he is on the fence.

I would get a second or even a third opinion. I know the idea of another surgery is terrible, especially when it's your child involved, but it may be necessary if he is still having compression.
