Hey guys. I know I haven’t posted in like a month or anything. I just recently had my surgery on Wednesday. I was in ICU for one day and came home yesterday morning. Immediately after my surgery I noticed the affects of the surgery. I suffered with many aches, pains, and discomforts because of chiari for a majority of my life. Terrible neck pains, headaches, back pains, shoulder pains, trouble breathing and swallowing, my vision sucked, I had trouble controlling my bladder and it always burned to pee. After surgery I immediately can feel my shoulder pain gone, I can swallow like actual normal people, I’m not even sure I need glasses anymore, I’m not sure about the neck pain yet because that’s where the incision is, but this surgery was definitely the best decision of my life. Yes, I’m still in a lot of pain from my the surgery but I can already see relief from chiari. I am very glad there were no complications. Sadly, my surgeon told me that my chiari was definitely a lot worse that it showed in the MRI. I urge all of you, if you are unsure of getting the surgery, get a second opinion and remember the MRI doesn’t show the whole picture and find a doctor and surgeon that will listen to you, and not just do everything based off your MRI
That is great news! Speedy recovery to you, and enjoy this new feeling of relief!
So glad to hear you are doing well! :) Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
