Positive hoffmann's post op

Hi everyone,

I have been off for awhile, working on rehab, trying to get back to work. I was decompressed 1/23/13..and still haven't been back to work. At my dr. appt yesterday, my dr. discovered a positive hoffmann's sighn, hyperreflexia and absent abdominal reflexes. He ordered a new c-spine MRI, then a full spine MRI and wants to consult with my NS. He says this is a sign of cervical myelopathy.

Has anyone had a similar experience? I've just been in tears..I though I was ready to go back to work and now he says he doesn't know when I will be able to go back...and I am being terminated at my job bc I've been out so long.

I also was positive for Hoffman's reflex. It's on my right arm, which I also have weakness in. My doctor actually thinks it's from my rotator cuff, but I'm not convinced. I feel your frustration......good luck.
