Just a quick question for everyone, has anyone had to deal with a pinched nerve in their neck? I have seen my doctor for the second time this week (after being to the ER) and the doctor I saw today was the 3rd different doctor I saw this week. Things were much better with this doctor, with the exception that when she found out that I have Chiari, and haven't had an MRI in about 10 years along with this pinched nerve she excused herself in a hurry to schedule an MRI for me. She wanted it done today, but she wasn't able to make it happen until Monday. I have almost no feeling in my left arm, the left side of my head, and neck, along with the left side of my back. I feel the burning/ tingling associated with a pinched nerve, but aside from that I can only feel pressure on the affected areas. Should I be concerned about this being Chiari related, or just chalk it off as nothing more than a pinched nerve? The doctor wasnt very clear, but it made me nervous when she found out and immediately wanted to get me into have an MRI done. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. It has been gradual, so that's good to know. It all started as a sharp pain in my neck, then my arm started to go numb, and about 6 or 7 days later (now) I have lost alot of feeling in my arm head neck, and back but only on the left. Hopefully the MRI will tell me everything I need to know, I just wanted to prepare myself for what it could be. Thanks for replying Mandy! Next step is to try and figure out what to do about the itchiness, because I can't feel myself scratch!
I am dealing with that right now! I think I have something pinched in there too! I am having the same symptoms...feels like at times when I turn my head its going to lock and my shoulder blade feels like its going to lock too. Horrible pain! I am going to see my doctor today to get the ball rolling again on this never ending list of symptoms I deal with! I get looks from the receptionist like (Oh you again). It makes my blood boil man! I feel so bad for my wife having to deal with my state of health. She is my rock and I cant thank her enough. But yes man get it checked. Stay positive....DC from Chicago
How’d it go today with the MRI? Any word yet?
This sounds like it can be related to chiari I have had pain,numbness in my extremities,just really sick for many years and even though I was not diagnosed for 27 yrs.The main thing in my opinion is to find a chiari specialist that can dx.correctly.I know from my own experience that most Reg NLs &NSs can’t dx this condition.Hope you get the answers,keep us posted.
I unfortunately am still waiting for the MRI. Its set now for Thursday after fighting with insurance for the past 2 weeks. Still no feeling on my left side so hopefully Friday I will have some results.
