Hey all,

In a couple of weeks I am scheduled for a TEE I can not spell the technical words but what it is I swallow some ultrasound thingie and it it takes an ehcocardiogram of my hear to to see if there is a hole some where in there. The cardio EP things that there might be one in there or I might have that afib (Atrial fibrulation (SP)). Would actually prefer the hole , it would explain a whole lot more (no pun intended).

Anyhow has anyone had one of these TEE exams done? All I was told was nothing to eat or drink from midnight night before and have a driver,.

The rest leaves a lot to imagination and right now mine is having a field day conjuring images and my one sister-in-law said with my luck they will tell my wife that the found something and she'll need to sign consent forms for immediate surgery so now imagine the images going through my wonderful and wild imagination. Oh how I love my outlaw in-laws.

I was scheduled for one but requested the outside my body version. It’s a trans esophageal echocardiagram. They say it gets a better view of your heart from inside. I thought it was an ultrasound scope that they use but I could be wrong on that. That’s what I know about it. You can google the procedure and get some more info. I have in the past had some episodes of afib. They left as mysteriously as they came. At the time I was having them they couldn’t find anything wrong with my heart.

Hello Michael. Echo from just the outside feels like an Ultrasound for a baby - I guess you wouldn't have experienced one of those!!!

When I had mine (external - not TEE, it wasn't dramatic at all. I wonder if your sister in law will drive you??? I hope not!
