Hi to all my fellow Chiarians....Prayers and thoughts to all of you. I just wanted to say that I finally got an appointment with Dr Timothy Strait in Chatanooga TN. I got his name from the Chiari Institute alumni listing. All my records were sent and I have an appointment Feb 21, 20013. I must say I have all these thoughts running through my head, like does he really deal with alot of this. I did ask the nurse who called to schedule and she said he does see a good bit of it and that he is one of only three in their practice that deals with this. However, I have heard this before, I also asked if he goes beyond the normal neurological exam to the more in depth ones needed for Chiarians. Of course her reply was yes. I will be traveling from SC to TN (about 400 miles), and I know there are alot of you who have traveled a great deal farther. I just guess I am anxious and want some answers and knew you guys would understand. Thanks for listening and may you all be blessed on your journey.
I did but he only accepts 3 insurances Medicare Medicaid and
Tricare otheriwse you have to pay $900 to see him for first visit. I have insurance and can't afford to do that.

Good luck Jenn! We all know that hope that we carry going into each appt!
Did you consult with Michael Rosner in NC by any chance? He seems to have a good rep, and can always keep him in mind if you need another opinion.
Wishing you the best of luck, Jenn :-) Sending you prayers and hope for the answers you need, as I know it is challenging to find the right NS.
What a great question to ask whether he goes beyond the normal neurological exam...I will borrow that one for a consultation I am hoping to set. I'm just learning to be a more assertive advocate for myself with specialists.
