Hi my name is Amber I’ve recently been diagnosed with chairi with 6mm something or another my first nuerologist appointment isn’t until July (Ugh) but my question is how many days did your primary care or neurologist approve per month? Im having issues with my doctor who knows nothing about this. When he ordered the mri it was due to headaches constant pressure the results came in & all he said was uh oh you need to see someone else. I googled what it said i had which led me here! The doctor is saying i can have only 5/days per month & that’s all his office can approve he’s not a specialist. I’ve been taking 2 to 3 days a week due to these headaches. He’s got me on pain meds muscle relaxers seizure medication weight loss medication but i still wake up some nights head throbbing. Anyway long story i just wanted to know what others were approved for.
I started with 5-6 days a month until we got me headaches under some kinda control then 3-4 to be safe just in case

I have approval for one day per week, but for migraines. I was decompressed just over 2 years ago, but still have vicious migraines.
Go see a neurologist who understands Chiari...........
I was diagnosed with Chiari 1and syringomyelia, I’ve woken up with those crazy headaches where my head feels like it’s going to explode for 2 years. I’m now taking diamox 750mg and sleep on a wedge pillow, i haven’t had one of those headaches since September 2014. You find a Neuro that specializes in Chiari, syringomyelia and intracranial hypertension and it wouldn’t hurt to try another medication before someone tries to cut you open.
