I know…I’m so nervous because I have so many complications its hard to tell my story.
Hi...
Just wanted to see how you are doing...It is so darn easy for me to tell you to relax and everything will work out just fine...BUT....Like I said in my 1st reply..Dr. Tew has a fabulous rep......You also got some positive feedback from people who have actually dealt with him.
I hope that you are doing ok..I know you will be going there next week...just wanted to see how you are. Please let us know.
Here for you.
I’m doing ok… just getting ready filling out all the paperwork for my appointment. I went and got my swallow study so be could see it when I go. I wondered if they always have you do a hypermobility/ Ethler Danlos questionnaire when you go?
Has anyone had the specialists seemingly completely ignore documented signs on your MRI, as being irrelevant. they basically said that the Empty Sella and widened optic nerve sheaths didn’t indicate intracranial hypertension, when I’ve read multiple peer reviewed articles that state that they do.
Glad to report that the Neuro-otologist at UT Southwestern did appreciate that the findings on my MRI and symptoms indicate intracranial hypertension. I’m nervous though, because he ordered a lumbar puncture and I’m waiting on ok from Dr. Tew. I want to do it because it will prove what I’ve said all along that I have INTRACRANIAL HYPERTENSION! He ordered a very detailed MRI with and without contrast and detail of temporal bones to check for fistulae due to the Menieres and hearing loss. He actually agreed to order the UPRIGHT MRI for me also, which I an so grateful for. Some good news Thank God!
Sure will…

Good luck. I’m sure the doctor is good, but doesn’t hurt to have a second opinion, especially if decompression surgery is recommended. I was a little mad to hear my neurologist say my case was “equivical” after the surgery.
My recommendation is Dr.Micheal Rosner in Hendersonville,N.C. He is one of the pioneers in this field. He does surgeries for patients all over the world.
