Muscle spasticity

Has anyone had any good results with treatments for muscle tightness following decompression surgery? I had mine in Dec. of 2010 and woke up with ataxia (which I didn't have before), spent three weeks in in-patient rehab and did about three weeks out-patient rehab. Have diminished use of right hand and foot (I'm left-handed) and the feeling of an electrical charge and pressure in my neck, numbness, balance issues, and decreased upper body strength along with the muscle tightness (which I didn't have before surgery). The headaches have stopped. I do take valium and another muscle relaxer, and neurontin, do cranial sacral therapy and acupuncture. Tried hypnosis but it was very expensive. Not sure if anything really helps. The humidity and change of weather make the numbness ad balance wore, I think. Breaks my heart I can 't really pick up my infant grandbabies and walk around with them without taking extreme care, and stairs are out. Walking and carrying things and going down steps takes a lot of care and thought. Sorry for rambling.

TAO

Tao, I have a couple of suggestions, which are by no means “big guns.” Many of us have Vitamin D deficiency and supplement daily with a hefty amount D3, chelated magnesium is another biggie that directly affects my muscle issues within a few minutes, and the Bs are sometimes low for us too. I’m glad you found us.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have similar symptoms, but on my left side. My doctors say they can't explain it, therefore they don't address it. Please let me know if you find anything that works!
