Hey all Do any of you also suffer with Mitral Valve Regurgitation in the heart? If so do you know if decompression surgery is more dangerous with this condition? Can’t find comparison online.
Cheers in advance.x
Hi Clair, I have mild mitral valve reflux. I’m not aware of any extra danger for the surgery because of it- but research it. Have you talked the NS about it?
I have it too. My Drs. have not been too concerned as far as surgery goes. I've had 2 surgeries and no issues with that. Because of that and a left bundle branch block my pcp wanted me to get cardiac clearance for my first surgery. And the cardiologist wasn't concerned about it as far as surgery.
I have mitro valve prolapse (not quite the same, I know). My doctor and NS didn't seem concerned about it at all. My best advice is to ask the NS, or Cadiologist if you are still seeing one. They will have the best knowledge. Either way, letting your NS know in advance will help him to monitor it during surgery.
