Anyone else experiencing migraine related seizures? My neurosurgeon has been dancing around this for months, even prescribing Keppra and Topiramate for me but not giving me a final diagnosis. He does not feel I need an MRI but it has been a year since my last one. I had a lesion in my left temporal area on that one but no one seems to think this is related. He said the seizures sound like partial or complex partial seizures. I see him tomorrow and I am going to demand an MRI but just wondering if these might be more common in chiari patients than I know of. I do not lost consciousness. I can feel them come on and people that have witnessed them say my face seems to relax, my pupils dilate, they also do not respond to light changes, I try to get up but I can’t walk, I am aware of what I’m doing but can’t really control it and I don’t remember everything that I do. My speech is very slurred, I can’t get my thoughts out. I will try to get up and just get away from people to be by myself but I fall because of the inablity to walk. That’s just a few of the symptoms but if anyone has anything like this and has these kind of seizures I would love to hear from you and how you got these diagnosed. I also had an EEG but unless you have an EEG during it, it shows nothing usually. Thanks for any help I can get.
Not sure if this related, but like you said you need to demand a MRI, wishing you the best.
Thanks Tazz, I saw my doctor and I am scheduled for an MRI next Monday and will see my doctor the same day for results.
My 25 year old daughter is suffering from the same symptoms as you. Doctors for year could not figure out what was wrong until Monday when it was revealed she as well as my 11 year old son have Chiari. Demand an MRI!!
Good luck
Thank you Peter, well I have already had the decompression surgery for Chiari 1. I am having another MRI next Monday to see if they can tell if I am having seizures or if there is something such as a tumor causing seizures. Thank you for your reply.
Please keep us all updated. thank you for your help and courage.
Peter
Wishing you the best and hope you find the answers you need😄
