I posted this in the Events, but just incase you all can't see it I'm going to post it here also.
We have a meeting this Saturday(June 9th) at Baptist East Education center in Louisville, KY from 3-5. We are hosting a webcast for Mayfield Chiari Center. Here is the release they prepared.
The Mayfield Chiari Center in Cincinnati Ohio is presenting an online presentation and Q&A session about Chiari Surgery. The presentation will be given by Mario Zuccarello, MD, Professor & Chairman of Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati and the Mayfield Clinic. Dr. Zuccarello will discuss the symptoms and diagnosis of Chiari, indications for surgery, step-by-step description of decompression surgery, and post-surgery expectations.
I am not sure if this is just for our meeting or if it is something that can be accessed by anyone but it is something all of you may be interested in checking on.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Also, me and my mom are helping to organize the Unite @ Nite Walk in Louisville for September 22. If anyone is interested in helping or needs help registering or information on the walk let me know.
I am extremely interested in learning more about this... I live in the Cincinnati area and Dr. Zuccarello is the Dr that I have been referred to. Do you know much about him Jessi Linn??
I actually found out that the webcast is exclusively for our meeting Saturday. But they are working on making it available for anyone to access from home. I haven't been able to do a lot of research on Dr. Zuccarello yet. But what I have read so far, seems as though he is one of the best Mayfield has. I think you will be in good hands. I will do some more research and let you know what I find. I will also let you know what I think about him after the webcast Saturday. I am trying to get into Mayfield also.

Beeba, Please anyone who has any questions they would like asked, feel free to post them to me and I will ask them and post the answers. I will see what I can do about recording it and posting it here. As far as the joining the group to see it, this one is set up only to air at the meeting we are having Sat. but we are working on getting it set up to where future ones can be viewed from home. At that point I would say anyone who wanted to view it would be able to see it. I will let you know more as I know more. But please give me any questions you would like and I will get all of them that I can answered. If you could rank them in order of importance so I can get the most important ones answered just incase we run out of time. Jessi

Hey Tara, as of right now the only date I have is tomorrow from 3 to 5 pm. I will get the list of future dates and times tomorrow and let you know what they are. Let me know if you are wanting to try to make it tomorrow and need any more info on it.

Sorry I haven't been on to let you know before now. Ever since the meeting I've been really sick. I didn't actually get to speak with Dr. Zuccarello. He was called into surgery so Dr. Andrew Ringer replaced him. Other than that it was very informative. I am going to try to post more about it tomorrow for everyone, as long as this HA holds off.

Joy just had surgery a week ago with Dr. Ringer... Can't wait to hear more.
Hey guys. Sorry I haven't been on to post more about the meeting. I have been in and out of the ER with these headaches and in and out of doctors offices trying to get something done about my pain management. Please bare with me. I will get something posted about the meeting as soon as my mind will allow me to focus on it long enough.
Joy, I hope you are doing well after your surgery. I really enjoyed speaking with Dr. Ringer and would like your input on his doctoral skills when you feel up to it b/c I will be going to Mayfield after the first of the year.
Tina, I wish you could have been there also. We have a meeting every month. Our next one is July 14th. It's at the same place. Let me know if you would like to attend and I will private message you the number for the founder so you can call her if you need any help finding it as I won't be able to attend that meeting b/c I will be in Arkansas helping my grandparents move into their new home.

I live in Shepherdsville KY. Which is about 20 min from the meeting. Oh I wish I would have seen this so that I could have attented. Do they have meetings there often? I have had 2 decompressions. 1 in Cleveland and the other in WI with Dr. Heffez. Dr. Heffez is wonderful but my headaches are coming back so bad and I can't get a return call from him. I also have fibro, my firbo dr took me off all my meds to see if that is what it was, I do have my pain meds for the pain due to not having the Savella anymore. Still have the headaches so it has to be my Chiari. Sorry to complain I just hate when we can't get the help we need with our Chiari!
