So I saw my neurosurgeon for the first time yesterday. We went over all my symptoms old and new, he did his neurological exam and we looks at the mris. He said everything I have experienced is connected to my Chiari. He also said it looks like I might have some nerve damage. And started talking to me a little bit about the surgery. Which he said he isn’t sure yet that he will do since he needs to look at a few more things. He ordered a cine mri, nerve conduction study and xrays of my spine. But what got me was that he said I need to bring a family member to talk about the surgery at the next appointment.
The reason for asking for a family member would be so that you have support for the decision making in case of surgery. But let them do all the possible testing then discuss options for relief. Best if kuck
