My surgery was very surprising. It turned out that not only did I have Chiari but I also had a BENIGN tumor right in the same area, causing more blockage. No wonder my symptoms progressed so quickly. There was no indication of the tumor on any of my MRIs. The first three days after surgery were excruciating because I was on the table for so much longer than expected and he had to do a c1 laminectomy, but today things finally started to improve. I am thrilled to be back home instead of in the hospital.
Glad to hear you’re doing well! I’d be terrified to find out there had been an undetected tumor-- makes me wonder what else isn’t showing up on our MRIs?? I hope your recovery keeps getting better
Wow so happy they found it and you are beginning to heal.
so happy to hear the news! Glad you are home, healing, and in good spirits!
Yay Donna. I’ve been watching for an update about your surgery. Sorry you had the extra stuff to deal with but I’m glad your home now and recovering.
Great to hear that you are home and on the mend!
Did your doctor have any explanation as to why the tumor did not show up on the MRI? It is pretty scary that it didn't show up, will make us wonder about the results we are given if there is a chance it can miss a tumor. So glad you are doing good and on the road to recovery.
Thank you all for the well wishes! I should know more about the tumor at my post op appointment. He is checking on what kind of tumor it is right now. All I know at the moment is that they got it all and it is not cancer. I also find it disconcerting that none of the MRIs picked it up. Geesh.
