Has anyone ever had this symptom?

Hi everyone! I’ve been experiencing some muscle weakness in my face on the left side for a couple of weeks. The past few days it has one down my left arm and into my hand. Has anyone ever experienced this with only the one side? I went to the dr today and he told me it could be related but he seemed to think it was more stress related. It is not major just very minor but it feels weird and is freaking me out. Thanks all!

I’ve had like ‘drooping’ of my mouth before but not a whole side of my face. My doctor told me the ‘drooping’ was from some of my nerves mis -firing ( or freaking out as I call it) he said that sometimes when you have a large surgery where they have to move or cut through nerves that they try to find each other again and sometimes they ‘bump’ into the wrong nerve and it causes issues like twitching. (these aren’t his words I’m paraphrasing and trying to make it sound human not doctor-y language) I don’t know if this helps… but I tried?

I hope everything gets better for you soon and if the problem persists please return to your doctor or NS. Stay safe xo

I think that’s a good point, Chiari can this but you could have a neck issue too, many of us do- especially if you have EDS. I think a cervical mri is a good idea

Yes. I have the weakness in the face. I also have weakness around my jaw and neck at the very top. Sometimes its hard to get my head and chin tilted right to even take bites of food and I feel so weak and tired I don't even want to chew.

Also, I have the weakness across the shoulders and down one arm nearly constantly.

I "believe" that this usually presents on one side, or more distinctive on one side.

Have you had a cervical MRI done as well? Do you have any kind of protruding disks or herniated disks? I have a herniated disk at c5-c6 and it causes weakness and pain down my left arm and hand.
