Had appointment with Neurologist

Well, Tuesday I had my appointment with the neurologist and he had suggested that I have the surgery done due to numbness and cervical syphinx. Wow, what alot to think about. This has all taken place so quickly. I was hoping that this could have been controlled through just medication. I have not scheduled the surgery yet but will be with Dr. Bejjani out of Pittsburgh. Has anyone had there surgery with him or in Pittsburgh?

Hello Summer1,

It's a good thing when you can be diagnosed quickly and work to a solution. I'm from Central PA (Altoona), and met with Bejjani. He's very knowledgeable and doesn't mess around. He'll tell you like it is too. Odds are with a syrinx he will recommend surgery.

I ended up going to PennState Hershey because I liked their medical system better and I was very happy with what they did for me. It's very hard to get in though.

Bejjani told me that I would know when I needed surgery, and he was right. There are others here with success stories from him and his team. I have a RL friend who went through him and she couldn't be happier.

Summer,

I had my surgery with him. I will not say anything bad about him for his skill as a surgeon is good. I just got back from another NS today who I think has better follow up. Before you make up your mind, If your insurance covers him, and if you want, check out Dr. Curt Conry at Armstrong Memorial. I just went today to get a follow up. He is knowledgeable and might be closer. Check your box for a message from me as well. Thanks
