Has anyone flown on an airplane with a pseudomeningocele? If so, did you have any problems with pressure?
My NS said there should not be a problem. If there was "air" in the head there would be, but not with fluid.

The cabin is pressurized, so I would think it’s ok???

I do not have a Psuedomeningocele, but would advise anyone with CM that flies not to make multiple flights over 3 or 4 days. I had problems flying after 6 fairly long flights in 4 days. It caused really bad headaches. It also depends on the size plane you are on. I fly in a small plane to Pittsburgh & I always have bad headaches from CM/Occipital Neuralgia and ear pain from Geniculate Neuralgia. I sent your Discussion out to the total Forum Membership. I’d be interested to see what people say. I’m still battling with my pseudomeningocele as well and I had thought about flying to some warmer weather for part of my recovery…as it is freezing and snowy here, but the pain and pressure in my head is so intense that I can not even I gin the pressure of flying. I remember flying once with a sprained ankle and that killed so I can’t imagine it in my head.
I too am from Pittsburgh. My husband and I plan to go to Florida for a week (2hr. Direct flight).
I can’t help but think the sun, sand & ocean will be good for my recovery.
I have googled this subject and really can’t find anything.
I don’t not have pseudo… I do have cm and have found small planes to cause headaches. Small planes are only pressurized to a certain altitude. I would fly with caution.
I don’t have a Pseudomeningocele but I do have CM 1 with 22 mm decent and I found flying fine for the most part but decending for landing is a problem as the pressure build up in my head is excruciating, but that’s me. Everyone is different so my advice is to do what you feel is right for you. You will never know unless you try
